Around 73,000 attended. Funny how they wanted 100G, apparently the MCG doesn't hold that many.

Ther3e is no point getting away from the fact that it was a disappointing crowd. We all wanted at least 80,000 and we fell short though if I was a Hawk I'd not be pumping my mouth about attendances.

The truth is that we won't have the megacrowds until we are successful. A generation of Richmond fans asre so used to disappointment and depression that they have stopped going.

How many did the Army number today? 45,000? Perhaps a couple of thousand less.

It was a disappointing crowd. I think only about 10% of the woodwork fans showed up. There should have been another 10,000 Tiger supporters and 5,000 Blue supporters

However madtiger I've spent some time on stats.rleague and in fact is was only the third ever 70K+ crowd at a big 4 second half of season game in which both teams were out of the 8 and only once has such a game bettered 80K and that also featured us in last years Hird send off.

Put in that contest 73,500 is huge.

It was our homer and our celebration so it was up to us to turn out but no doubt Carlton were not there in the numbers we expected. The defeat last week to Essendon coupled with being "Judd-less" probably kept their attendance down.
