Can anyone elaborate? I make it a rule of thumb never to watch Ch7 news... ;)

But I'd still be keen to know what positive thing they could possibly have had to say about one of our blokes. :)

They showed him in the hospital with some kids and told the story how he was told at the age of 8 that he had a tumor on his leg and if it wasn't diagnosed he could have lost his whole leg. The doctor advised they were very lucky to get it when they did but straight out they told him he would never play football. Then went on to talk about how he was delisted and only got the phone call about training over the pre-season with the chance at a rookie spot as he was heading off to the airport.

Came back from work late and missed the crowley interview; can someone put it on youtube pleeeez :), I really want to see it :(

He was in plaster from neck, his body, and down his right leg. then he got Chicken Pox.

I broke my leg playing footy. I can tell you knitting needles come very handy.

fug....no wonder he's such a tough bastid....

large part of his thigh bone being cut off when he was 8 years old.....plus chicken pox to boot.... >,>

chicken pox.....while in a plaster cast!!!!

His nickname must have been charlie brown when he was young :/

Holy crap...

"Second-chance" Crowley??

No way - I reckon we need to call him The Cat from now on... he's had more than two chances by the sound of it, he must have used up few of his 9 lives after that story - both in footy and in "real life". :thumbsu:

What a legend :thumbsu: :)

i can tell all u guys that i went to school with crowls, from yr 7 all the way though to yr12, and played junior footy against him in the same time and not once did he ever mention this to us,

he was talked about being a lil arragant while playing for the cannons in his tac cau days and i will agree with those comments, but hearing this story maybe highlights a little as to why he was the way he was, must have done it hard as a kid being told u wont ever play.

good to see him playing well in a good side and holding his own, i think the delisting has been the best thing for him personally, if looks as thogh he has realised that 2nd chances dont come around that too often in AFL and he has defiently taken his chance.
a completely changed person from his early days to now...
well done crowls....

It was good to see a positive story about a footballer for a change.

As good as he is, I have to admit Crowley has never been a particular favourite of mine but I do have a greater respect for him after watching the story.

Scary for you guys that he came so close to slipping through your fingers - good call by Phil Smart.

I would have said it is more scary that an obviously talented and determined bloke came so close to letting his own dream slip through his fingers.

Ive always liked Crowley. Great skills when he turns it on and a tough unit with a bit of mongrel to boot. Cancer, has effected my family, as it has many of us.... You can only repsect someone who overcomes the illness and the depths of anguish and fear that such serious illness brings.:thumbsu:

Also - every time I've head "Mr Crowley" by Ozzy Osborne over the past few years I immediately think of our little warrior for the Purple Horde. :thumbsu:
