And we're done for 2009:

A deal was done when down to 4 players with chip stacks as below:

Tudor Kondevski - 4,600,000
Mark Iskander - 4,000,000
Bruno Portaro - 3,000,000
Steve Topakas - 2,900,000

The final placings and "official" payouts were:

1. Tudor Kondevski ($150,000)
2. Steve Topakas ($101,000)
3. Mark Iskander ($72,500)
4. Bruno Portaro ($50,000)
5. David Zhao ($38,000)
6. Luke Tsapazis ($30,000)
7. Aaron Tran ($22,000)
8. Ricky Kroesen ($16,000)
9. Guy Agostinelli ($12,000)

And the chip order when the final table began, and how they finished:

Tudor Kondevski - 2,760,000 (1st -> 1st)
Bruno Portaro - 2,485,000 (2nd -> 4th)
Aaron Tran - 2,175,000 (3rd -> 7th)
Luke Tsapazis - 1,590,000 (4th -> 6th)
Mark Iskander - 1,395,000 (5th -> 3rd)
Guy Agostinelli - 1,150,000 (6th -> 9th)
Ricky Kroesen - 1,020,000 (7th -> 8th)
David Zhao - 1,010,000 (8th -> 5th)
Steve Topakas - 875,000 (9th -> 2nd)

A brilliant run from Crown regular Steve "Big Show" Topakas. Didn't think he'd even make it past Day 2.

Brilliant in all but one crucial respect.

Structures look a bit different to last year too. Have only looked at the 2 events that I’ll look to play in though.

The $175 opening event starts at 25/25 with 4k starting bank and 25 minute levels (only a slight change from last year’s 25/50 start).

The $240 $100k guarantee is now a 10k bank (5k last year), starting at 25/50 (last year 25/25), antes come in at level 4 (no antes last year), 30 minute levels day 1, 40 minutes day 2 (all 30 minutes last year).

Hanging out for these 2.

(yes, I’m new in here, I only just realised that BF has a poker forum)

Might actually have to come out of live donkament retirement to play that, seems like a half decent structure (well for about 3 hours until it becomes a luckbox fest).

I started putting together an overview of MPC 2010. I wish there was a standard template that you could put all tournaments into as an easy means of comparison:
- what is the buy-in
- when is it on
- what's the start bank
- how long are the levels
- what is the structure like?

This is what I have so far, a work in progress.

One thing I should explain. The M values in the Notes field (of which I have only done for a few tournaments so far) consists of:
- how many big blinds you start with
- your starting-stack M (10-handed) after 5 levels
- your starting-stack M (10-handed) after 10 levels.

These may not be the best measures but they are one way to compare tournament structures. One thing I could also consider is the duration of the levels. Perhaps, compare structures after 3 hours and 6 hours.

If you care to have a look, I'd appreciate any comments.

I dont mind the starting 25/25 level for the opening event, it will create some serious limping and nice stealing opportunities

I like no antes, but after the 5th level its just going to play like the Thursday $100. I really wish they would add a 250/500 level.

Never played a repachage event, wonder if it changes the way people play? 100k gtn is nice though, this event will be huge so I'm really looking forward to it.

I'd love to play the 8-game but work wont allow me to get there. Will play the nightly PLO events though

10-15 mins would be plenty. It's only a Step 1 satellite. I wouldn't think it would take more than 2-3 hours.

I satted in to the MPC ME last year directly buying into a Step 2 (1 in 5) satellite ($250). There were 120 entries into that.

Feel like crap, been sick all week, but hoping to drag myself to tonight's tournament. I have a day off work tomorrow so I could play then.
