Crows - A Class Act

Disappointed as I am, I was very pleased with the way our team conducted themselves after the game. That aspect of it made me proud to be a Crows fan.

What a game today! Such a contrast from the tripe dished up last night by Sydney & St.Kilda. It's a shame that today's game wasn't a draw; no team deserved to lose.

Just wanted to say what an absolute class act I thought the Adelaide Football Club was after the game in acknowledging Brad Johnson's 300th game, with players forming a guard of honour.

You can imagine after a gruelling contest like that where all players would have been both physically & mentally spent, the easiest thing in the world to do would have been to just walk off & head to the rooms.

Thank you AFC, great to see such sportsmanship! :thumbsu:

Well done crows, I agree 100% with tcd.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Was disappointing that some of the Bulldogs fans near me couldnt show similiar class after the game, booing us off the ground.

It was only one or two, but damn did that piss me off.

Yeah, got the same thing mate as me and my 16 year old daughter and her friend were booed and sworn at as we left.

Also, when Goody kicked that goal in the dying stages of the last quarter for us to lead by 8 my daughter was rather nastily told to sit down and stop waving her flag by some of the ferals. Almost turned nasty as I told them where to get off.

On the whole though I would say that most of the Dogs fans were well behaved.

Not many Adelaide fans there but it was Round 1 over Easter in Melbourne.

Gutted again by a close loss (wish we could start having some close WINS for a change) but it was a good game and the atmosphere was pretty good.

Bring on the Showdown in Rd 3.

First class from the crows players. It shows true Character from the crows players after losing a great game of footy. To do that is something that Johno will remember for ever.

All clubs have feral supporters its part of footy.you have to ba a gracious winner and losser. Some people have no idea. I have the same problem when i go and watch the dogs play the Swans here in Sydney.

Well done Simon Goodwin and the crows players :thumbsu::thumbsu::)

Thanks to all the bullies supporters who have come on here:thumbsu: and well done to all the crow boys for forming the guard, it wasn't hard, didn't cost them anything, but small gestures can go a long way and its good to see sportsmanship still exists and that our club takes part in it.

However there are clubs that should be ashamed. They know who they are!

For example dirty tactics of taggers, tanking or physically intimidating new or injured players. Quote

Ask Daryl Wakelin;)

yes but Wakelin doesnt count - he was only a Port Power player :D

Thanks for the show of respect to a bloke who is a wonderful footballer and better human being.

I am sure the crows would have done that win lose of draw.

Very respectful if not classy.

Thought this threads title captured my thoughts on below: :thumbsu:

Parents present jumpers

The parents of first-time Crows were invited into the rooms before Sunday’s opening game to present jumpers to their sons.

The emotional new induction, organised by Adelaide’s leadership group, can now be seen by our members and supporters through Channel Crow.

Tony and Janet Tippett handed over the No 4 Crows jumper to Kurt - who was about to make his AFL debut - and then Peter and Jenni Symes presented Brad (traded by Port) with his No 15 jumper.

Finally, Grant and Lisa Mackay gave son David the No 14 jumper.

“Playing your first game for the Adelaide Football Club is an important occasion,” explained captain Simon Goodwin. “We think presenting them with their new jumper and sharing this moment with the parents is a great way to recognise their achievement.”

What a real show of class ......must admit it really got to me watching that on Channel Crow.

For interstate players whose pull home to family and friends ......this in some way helps to conect family to the club ......well done!!

Wow, that's brilliant stuff on the jumper presentation. Like you say WW it creates a connection between the family and the club.
