Ive finally finished watching ( suffering ) the tape of our most recent loss.
Hell you miss a lot of things when you are at the game dont ya.
When the tape stopped recording ( and the game finished) guess what was about to start ?
Adelaide v Collingwood Wizard Cup GF...so I watched IT and can highly recommend it, to brighten up your night.

Great therapy

Yes, you do miss a lot when you're at the game.

It's quite embarrassing sometimes to see an obvious free kick, which you missed completely, and booed the umpire for so loudly at the time. :D

I didn't see that Collingwood guy give the big elbow/fist to the Members..... now, is he going to get fined like Nathan Brown and Chad Cornes?????

You're not talking about Scott Burns when he kicked that goal are you? That wasn't anything to worry about. Unless there was another incident I didn't see, that's def. not anything to report.

No, it was one of the C/Wood officials (Mark somebody) and it happened right after the game, when they all ran out onto the oval. I saw a brief glimpse of it on TV, and it's been mentioned on the radio.

Im Edgy

Since the pie loss Ive been extra kinda edgy.
Gazzas coached the side well ( Now, one might debate that) theyve gone down against a team that has played in the last two grand finals without his six gun forward line!

Stevens, Welsh, Carey, Burton, Schell and even Smart in a cameo role to chose from not only mucks the team around, but one wonders how the Crows will go RE: come unstuck in the near future games before the TEAM sings?

Ronnie has learnt Adelaides go wide style, but is front and centre in the middle for the crumbs too. His midfield sorties have been good too..he is creative eh!

What we need is Bodey as well, he has lost some of his preseason spark....

Maybe this week.

Urine shower prompted official's gesture: Pies
By Peter Ker
May 15 2003

Collingwood has alleged that two members of its staff were showered with urine by a troublesome fan during Saturday's match against Adelaide.

The Magpies will use the accusation as part of their defence for football operations manager Mark Kleiman, who was issued with a "please explain" letter by the AFL after he was seen giving a finger gesture to the AAMI Stadium crowd shortly after Chris Tarrant's post-siren goal gave Collingwood a five-point victory.

Port Adelaide's Chad Cornes was fined $3000 last year for a similar gesture.

The Magpies will argue that Kleiman's gesture was not to the entire crowd but in response to an individual who had vehemently harassed the Collingwood bench all night.

It is alleged that late in the fourth quarter, the individual showered two Collingwood officials - a boot-studder and a property assistant - with urine.

Kleiman refused to comment yesterday, but Collingwood football manager Neil Balme said club officials had to take showers after having the liquid thrown on them.

Balme said the emotion at the end of the game overwhelmed Kleiman after receiving further abuse from the Crows fan.

"At the end, the bloke has given him another pay and he just returned it," he said.

"He's not proud of the act, but the gesture was directed to this bloke, not the crowd . . . we'll write to the AFL asking them to take that into account."

The Magpies have experienced some heated moments at AAMI Stadium in recent times, notably an altercation after the siren involving Port's Kane Cornes last year.

Collingwood always come up with some good excuses at Footy Park, don't they?

If that's true about the "urine shower", that's absolutely disgusting. The spectator(s) involved should be baned from Football Park.

However, is this accusation only coming to light because the the 'Please Explain'? That's a bit weak if so. It's a rather tenuous reason too - one spectator bugs you so you stick it up the whole crowd? Riiight.

Not that I really have a problem with these gestures, mind you. I think what we've seen from Brown, the Cornes boys, Ayres and this no-name Collingwood guy in the last year or so adds a bit of colour to what is an emotional game.

I heard this Mark person also gave the same gesture at Footy Park after playing the Power last year..... did he get sprayed that time too????

I find it hard to believe that someone in the Members area would do such a thing. It's totally disgusting, if it's true. However, maybe the Collingwood officials should remember where this sort of thing originated. :p

If someone p1ssed on me there'd be fisticuffs - no doubt, no question.

Also, how come this is the first we'd heard about it? Surely someone else would've seen it/reported it/documented it?

Sounds to me like this Mark Kleiman is the perfect subject for an impromptu Wheel of Fortune puzzle:

MARK KLE_MAN _S A F_CKW_T

Anyone need to buy an I or a U?

Last night I saw most of the 98 Prelim final against the Bulldogs - that was great game - it made me realise how significant Chris Grant's errant handball to Paul Hudson was in the outcome.

I think you mean 97 Prelim dezzmo. In 98 we pumped the Bulldogs by 10 goals.

You're right though, Grant's handball allowed Tyson Edwards to come across and smother and allowed me to start breathing again. :)

no it was the 98 one - vardy and roo were playing - the handball was in the 3rd 1/4 we were about 3-4 goals up and they were trying for the 2nd or 3rd time to catch up to us -[ bit like last week!!] - and grant took a mark only about 20 metres out but chose to hand off to hudson - who missed under pressure from smart.

poor grant - two clangers in successive prelims!!

You're right ... sorry about that chief!

You've brought my favourite image of the 97 Prelim final to mind. Libba in the arms of two teammates cheering through the best point you will ever see. Still brings a smile to my face.
