Your best coaches are not risk adverse - they understand that if you dont take risks you end up being an imitator - so you imitate people whereas your best coaches wanna be innovators - theres something special about being the first to do things - I reckon thats great because by the time someone imitates what you're doing - you are doing the next thing on top of it

Yep his career was curtailed by injury unfortunately. Retired from the game at 26 years.

I think the club let's it's self down with it's social media content and team that runs it.

Social media engagement as a business these days is vitally important. I'm just not sure our current team is all that good at it.

Remembrance day they only posted on some social sites not all of them, the release schedule today was flat and boring with nothing pre planned and having Josh Rachele and Luke Nankervis whisper into a microphone was the lamest thing posted on the internet today.

Surely there's a creative director out there that could produce good content? Some of the slop I've seen recently from us has been terrible or just a copied trend, nothing original and nothing that moves the needle in terms of winning over new fans.

Younger fans live on social media, GWS is killing it and just had their head guy poached by Tasmania.

As a club, we market ourselves for the 5aa audience from top to bottom

What's certain is that 50-75 year olds would believe that the AFC social media team is doing a very good, professional job and represents the club well

I couldn't give two hoots about social media personally

But I find it interesting the huge number of surveys the AFC sends out regarding how the club is viewed, what words do you associate with the club etc.

It is distasteful.

Not to Gen Z. Dunking on other teams is fun and paints the club in a good, cool way. But it's done playfully, and you have to laugh off the dunks that you get in return. It's an understanding that sport comes with banter and rivalries.

Our social media is very conservative and as Drugs Are Bad Mackay? said it's to make sure our 50+ year old members don't complain if we "rudely" "insult" or "disrespect" another team

Besides it's the role of little clubs who need attention, the crows are such a big club all they need to do is celebrate being the defacto state team. By chance a former crows bigfooty poster is the social media manager too, so can't go too hard on them.

In fact if the Crows even farted out of place, the Vic media would demand draft sanctions and a royal commission. GWS media team and banner squad can get away with it because they aren’t really a threat (until they are, and then all bets are off).

Also GWS are a start up minnow with a small fan base and minimal profile. They're happy for a bit of controversy. Anything to get themselves in the news and noticed
