Shafted again,

How many times in the last 10 years has this happened ??

Having to play away in Perth before we play in the finals !!

Still we've done it before & we can do it again. :)

Only 1 game game at the G is not good.

But can't argue with rounds 18, 19, 20, & 21.

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

Not too bad apart from round 22. No trip to the Gabba which is nice, only 1 trip to Perth.

Of the seven teams we play twice, 4 played in finals this year (Port, Sydney, Melbourne, West Coast) and 3 didn't (Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Kangaroos).

Would have liked to see a home Friday night match.

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

Does anybody remember what Adelaide's requests were for the 2005 fixture? How well were they met?

Iron Sock, i have a new lease of life & i'm very positive about us playing finals footy in 05.

I have these feelings in my bones & there telling me good times are not far away. :)

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

Breaking the fixture down we have:
Friday Night - 2
Saturday - 5
Saturday Night - 5
Sunday Afternoon - 10

and...
AAMI Stadium - 12
Telstra Dome - 5
SCG - 1
SKilled Stadium - 1
MCG - 1
York Park - 1
Subiaco - 1

Overall not a bad draw. Obvious disappointments are playing in Perth in the last round, only 1 game at the MCG (meanwhile Freo and WCE have 4  each), no friday night games at home and 4 saturday afternoon games at AAMI. Apart from that it's pretty good.

The stretch from rounds 10-21 is very healthy, definitely a big chance for some wins there with only the Geelong and Port games probably out of our reach.

Am I been overconfident? Even allowing 2 losses it means we win 12 games which should see us in the mix for a top 8 spot.

And you always win games you expect to lose and vice versa

Bring it on :D

The final piece in the puzzle is who we draft AND trade

GO CROWS 2005

My dad has predicted Adelaide will be playing in the finals next season too and he thinks they will do reasonably well. My dad is practically never wrong with his predictions-he always picks when the Crows will win and lose correctly so let's hope he is right this time too :D

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

The Round 20 match against Port is the Heritage Weekend.

Port has always wanted to break out the Black & White against the Crows... will they this year?

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

Probably a bit over-confident PerthCrow - beating Brisbane even at home will be a huge stretch, beating Port Adelaide in either Showdown is a big ask.

I reckon we can finish anywhere from 7 - 12.

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

I think the AFL's been smart in sending the Crows to Perth in round 22 cos they know they won't need to be worrying about playing the next week.

You know what the most annoying thing about this????

In the fixture that was released to the clubs about a week or so ago we played WC at Subiaco in Rd 21 and Collingwood at home in Rd 22. When the club got back the fixture those 2 games were switched around. No prices for guessing why those 2 games got switched

Needless to say Steven Trigg is one ********ed off man about this

Re: Crows' 2005 draw...

I think our draw is slightly better than 2004 (which eventuated as the toughest draw in the AFL - remember we played all top 4 teams twice). In terms of overall difficulty, I think we are in the middle of the pack. Brisbane's & Melbourne's looks the toughest and Carlton & Collingwood's looks the easiest. This is my first impression, anyhow.

However, I think Port have got an insider!

Those ********ers have just won the flag, yet only play 2 top-8 teams twice next year! What the ******** is that about? Has that ever happened before?

We finish 12th, yet play 4 top-8 teams twice! Thankfully, only one of those (Port) finished in the top-4.

The AFL need to employ some fairer-minded people in their scheduling department.

Not happy.

Good pick up. We've been a little bit dudded here.

I'm sure they used to schedule it such that bottom-8 sides played four bottom-8 sides twice and top-8 sides played four top-8 sides twice.

Of course, Melbourne is due for a down year.

That's the way it seemed to be, but hey the AFL doesn't seem to give a rats-arse about that anymore. Port play only 2 top-8 teams next year! Man, I can't get over that!!!!  :(
