Yeah good call. Blokes like Walker and Jacobs won't command a ton, doesn't matter how you spin it. It'll be draft picks and/or fringe type players, something in that range. The idea that anyone could think Knights, Davis or Taylor Walker would be put on the table is amazing to me. The Henderson to Carlton trade as a point of comparison for McKernan doesn't fit either, given nothing approaching the calibre of Fevola is involved.

Fringe players would be Browne, Anderson, Fisher and Johnson, not Walker and Jacobs who will still be on a list in 2013. Walker and Jacobs have the ability and talent to be more than a pure role player in a side's 22. The Adelaide offers remind me of the attitude of WC supporters telling us what they would be getting for Judd.

How'd Barnaby French work out?

Great servant who played 71 games after arriving as a 28 year old, but arrived at Carlton at the wrong time. Quite a good comparison because French was pushed out of their side by Lade, Brogan and Primus. The first round pick we traded for French was around the odds if you look at the players drafted in a poor draft. Would have made sense if a club was going for a flag, but if we didn't do that trade, we wouldn't have had a ruckman.

You heard well.

Just had DOA post on CSC and he suggested don't be surprised. That only involves Richmond itself though, no suggestion of Tambilng though. That would be a shocker of a trade.

Also said the his son was alot more at ease with the CFC after talks last Tuesday. Nothing final yet but gives the impression he might stay.

Seems a priority will be sign Grigg. Hopefully it's just a case of bumping up his price.

So its not like we want him badly, if we did he would be #1 and no one else but the fact is that we had at the very LEAST 3 players that we have been more interested in than Walker.

That doesn't mean that because he now might be our #1 target that we are willing to pay as much for him as we were for those ahead of him on the hit list.

For the record Griffen, Pavlich and Hurn were all ahead of Walker that we know about and our assistant coach who just got promoted to a List Manager has publicly said on 5AA that we will not be trading pick 14.
