They would've been laughed out of the room if they offered their 2nd round pick. Time for them to get serious or go into next season with a D grade ruck division again and be made to look like pricks for committing to Sauce and not getting a deal done.Pick 33 & their 3rd Rnd pick is 50
Probably because Adelaide approached him and put a very good offer on the table (allegedly $1m for 3 years), while Port have consistently shown no interest in trading for him at all.Can I ask why Jacobs chose Adelaide over Port. Apart from the fact that it's a shithouse club.
Same opportunities at both clubs? Or does he have connections at the Crows?

so the saints 1st round is 25 & crows 2nd round is 33 you guys dont think that jacobs will say .. your stuffing me around for 8 places !!

Have you ever, even once, made an intelligent post on BigFooty?so the saints 1st round is 25 & crows 2nd round is 33 you guys dont think that jacobs will say .. your stuffing me around for 8 places !!

Have you? Your previous post suggest otherwise. (I am joking, btw) The 2nd rounder is not a joke, and if Carlton want more than that, then I couldn't care less if Jacobs is playing for us next year. FFS, Mitch Clark is worth pick 14 and a 2nd rounder, not Sam Jacobs for goodness sakes.Have you ever, even once, made an intelligent post on BigFooty?
Great, another bright spark. Mitch Clark is worth a hell of a lot more than that. The 2nd rounder is a joke and I doubt your staff really would've been silly enough to offer it but if they did they would've been laughed at.Have you? Your previous post suggest otherwise. Then there's the whole Port vs Adelaide club issue as well, but I really don't want to go there...

Funny.. the guys running the Trade Week chat thing on the AFL website were asked about his value several times. They all responded with the same answer:Great, another bright spark. Steve Lavell: Second-round pick, Ruffy. Would be third-round if he wasn't a ruckman.
Pretty much. It's hard to respond when most of what you say doesn't make sense and the rest of it is too ridiculous to take seriously.[/B]
so your stuck for words then !!
... So the guys running the Trade Week chat now are the experts in what Jacobs is worth to a club, are they?Funny.. the guys running the Trade Week chat thing on the AFL website were asked about his value several times. They all responded with the same answer:
They're also reporting that Carlton are trying to play hardball and asking for more than that (they won't get it).

They also gave David Hale the exact same value. They are real group thinkers that just hear ruckman and think second round pick. Jacobs is a few grades ahead of Hale.So the Crows use on-line chat to work out a players value now? Perhaps that's why the crows were cut out of trade negotiations already. Regional Amateurs.

IMHO I think that Carlton are playing hard ball for a good reason with Adelaide.
I think that the Carlton mentality that we have at the moment is Pick #14 for Jacobs, otherwise we use the PSD threat (WCE/Richmond) to get Jacobs to re-sign (even if only for another year).
I wouldn't be at all un happy re-signing Sauce and having him on the list for another season, as opposed to getting unders for him from Adelaide.
Given that Melbourne have apparently offered 12 & 32 for Hale & 17, I'd suggest that a 2nd rounder is probably not too far off Hale's value... just as it's bang on the money for Jacobs' value. Most reporters are expecting this to go through fairly early tomorrow morning. They also gave David Hale the exact same value. They are real group thinkers that just hear ruckman and think second round pick. Jacobs is a few grades ahead of Hale.
Gorringe & Lycett would both go before him.If big sauce was in this compromised draft where would he get picked?
It would be a fair assumption to say that he would be the best ruckman available, so asking pick 14 would be reasonably fair seeming that if he was in the draft he could possibly go top 10 as a young and proven AFL quality ruckman and would be a better choice than a Daniel Gorringe who if you read the AFL Top 25 Draft prospects has him a number 8....
