Dean Brogan snots a Crows fan at the airport.
A new low in inter-club rivalry.
Anger management for players needed at the Poower?
not really.....70% of population are Crows fans.

Both are idiots and should have their heads clunked together and move on.

I'm not really looking forward to the witch-hunt this week no matter who was involved.

Exactly.

Brogan shouldn't have hit the guy - but at the same time, he shouldn't have had a reason to, the guy should have just shut his mouth and not said anything to him.

Spot On, but unfortunately for Brogan being who he is, he will cop far more flack for this than the Crows fan.

Broges is going to cop far worse on the footy field today. Will be interesting to see how he deals with it, especially given that a few are former teammates.

yep - The Port Powers should ask the AFL today what size fine they will accept....fine him today.....and start the moving on process tommorrow.

Also I would encourage the Crows fan to accept that if you can't back a smart mouth up........then you need to keep it shut....;)

Hopefully he won't seek to hide behind the legal system's skirt on this one.

Agree, but from the sounds of things they are going to take this all the way, see what they can milk it for, it's like anywhere school playground, night club if you cant back your mouth up keep it closed.

I don't condone violence at all, and Brogan should have shown restraint, but I'm tempted to say that bloke got what he deserved.

He's ignorant, and has no manners, and even though a broken nose is a harsh punishment, maybe it will teach him to shut his mouth next time.

For some reason there's an element of football fan out there who think they are entitled to hurl abuse at people simply because they play for a rival team. Every now and then the players are pushed too far, the loud mouth gets his teeth rearranged, and I am in total support of the player. Nobody should have to put up with unnecessary abuse, and a lot of footy fans need anger management more than players.

This Dale guy is a complete imbecile for saying what he said to Dean Brogan simply to get a reaction out of someone (even if it was said tongue in check), and who know if he is just a crows fan or if he actually financially supporter the club and is a supporter.

Is this guy (dale) a season ticket holder or a member of the club?

Is this guy just a fan who watches the games on TV? If he is just a fan who watches games on TV it poor form to simply lab le him a crows fan and virtually hold every crows fan accountable for his actions especially after Michelangelo article about hatred.

If he is a paid up member of the AFC the revoke him membership for simply brining the clubs into disrepute and if he is not he should simply pull his head in and stop being such an arse clown who provokes trouble.

If he is just a fan who watches games on TV the media should stop reporting him as a crows fan as he is just a member of the general public.

Dean Brogan should have know better to punch the guy, but FFS that not our problem.

No - the AFC has no role to play in this

I do not in any way condone what Broggs did and he'll have to cope it sweet. But re the bold bit, it would make me think this 'dale' guy had it all planned and set-up Broggs so he could milk whatever h could out of it. In that case, maybe he needed a real belting and Broggs didn't deliver the goods.

Sounds like "Dale" got what he deserved. No sympathy for him whatsoever.

It's a shame "people" like this create a bad image of Crows supporters.

Rubbish. Players would get called names every day of the week. Brogan has obvious anger management issues if he can't deal with what was a pretty harmless comment. Let's hope, THIS TIME , a Port player doesn't escape the full force of the law. i would have thought Assault is a pretty seroius crime. In the real world, if found guilty, the perpertrator would also probably lose his/her job.

Exactly. Why would he fly off the handle at such a comment? Most likely, there is more to the story than the victim's account we were given in the Mail.

Can't agree with you on that one sorry Crows98. I don't think we can pick and choose when we want to call someone an Adelaide supporter and when we don't. We're happy to count non-attending fans as part of the supporter base when it suits.

It is a shame as the AFC, the PAFC and Football in general will again be dragged into something that it doesn't need.
Unfortunately idiots are out there but my main question is why do players mingle with the general population at airports and the like. The AFL makes mega millions so surely they can afford to pay for things like Qantas clubs etc to avoid these inevitable confrontations with d***heads.

I see your point PAF. Unfortunately, it's impossible to avoid at least some contact with the general public at airports. They still have to use the same main entrance and check in (even if they use the Qantas Club/business check-in counter).

All you who say Dale got what he deserved are full of it. Brogan is the one at fault - you don't respond to words, especially ignorant and dull streams of insults, with physical violence. Is Brogan that low, stupid and unable to control himself that he can't either ignore it or respond with his own retort?

Brogan has proven himself simply to be nothing better than a teenage street thug who can't let a taunt get past him without flying into a violent rage. He needs to grow up and take responsibility for himself.

Dale is a class idiot, but he got far worse than he deserved.

SC, what was your stance when the Goodwin incident erupted?

Too be honest, I was disappointed in Goodwin but then again did it warrant the publicity it received, no way. If that received a four page spread this deserves a special Monday edition.

But seriously, assault is a serious crime and Brogan should pay the penalty.

He didn't kill the guy or mame him for life, did he? He just smacked him in the face and gave him a blood nose. I got one of those after an argument at primary school.

Brogan did the wrong thing, sure. But "Dullard Dale" is hardly scarred for life.
