So he can be held accountable and then other morons may thing twice about doing a stupid thing
how is it that the AFC is responsible for a fans behaviour?

Is the AFC responsible for our comments here?

Is the AFC responsible for arguements on/around a bus at Glen Osmond?

Is the AFC responsible for an altercation outside a ground in Victoria ?

need I go on ?

The AFC is not responsible for you, me, Dale, or anyone's behaviour in the general public...we have a police force and judicial system for that.

He has brought the club into disrepute by his immature actions, even if he isn’t a representative of the club.
C98 - you're way wrong on this one.......a member of the public supports a club and is involved in a fracas...that club is not responsible.

If he supports West Adelaide in the SANFL are they also responsible???......if he supports Chelsea in the PL......are they also responsible????. If he works for McDonalds or a Stock Broker....are they also responsible????...his association with his employer is far stronger than with a club.

I notice you have a Nike swish in your Avatar.........does that company endorse your comments here and are they responsible for your actions in public?

How do you know he supports the Adelaide Football Club?
FFS so generalizing so you can become a malicious sniper.

My snipe was referring to your "logic" that only paid up members of a football club can be classed as supporters.

Whether or not Dale-Broken-Nose is a Crows supporter doesn't make your position any less idiotic.

Rubbish. Players would get called names every day of the week. Brogan has obvious anger management issues if he can't deal with what was a pretty harmless comment. Let's hope, THIS TIME , a Port player doesn't escape the full force of the law. i would have thought Assault is a pretty seroius crime. In the real world, if found guilty, the perpertrator would also probably lose his/her job.

Here's a new, personalised avatar for you, Dale. :thumbsu:

Spot on. Brogan had 2 choices that he could have made, neither involving violence.

1. keep walking and ignore something that he's probably heard 1000 times before.

2. Confront the idiot, tell him to show some respect and that he doesn't appreciate what was said. He could have even asked for a retraction to add some humiliation for the peanut.

Assault is never an option unless in self defence or coming to the aid of another person. Brogan deserves the punishment he gets and the "supporter" deserves public derision for his part in the action.

Sorry guys, I don't get the SA papers.

What DID this 'Dale' bloke say to Dean Brogan?

No - the AFC has no role to play in this
I tend to agree Mad Dog, and yes Brogan did the wrong thing, but watch channel 9 news tonight, I bet the AFC won't be happy with what they see, this guy getting interviewed at home and he has gone and put a crow guernsey on. Why would you do something like that, something that might only inflame the issue.

Like I said on the main board. With this guy going and putting on his Crows gear just goes to show how much integrity this he has. If we was worried about justice he wouldn’t be running to the media. He just wants his 15 minutes of fame.

Thats pure stupidity, sounds like this clown is going to milk it for all its worth which is wrong.

I cringed when I saw this, I would not be suprised though if he was asked to wear a crows top. Much like the recent controversy with Jessica Rowe and the troops in East Timor. Where the production manager put the troops in the background to try and make the story appear more serious than it was.

I wonder if the Advertiser with advertise the article on radio and TV, do a front page story and do a 3-4 page spread on it?

I agree mate, I am glad that the General (or whatever his rank) saw through the typical and constant media manipulation, called it for what it was, and embarrased Jessica Rowe.

Glad for once that it was turned back around on the media, as they do this to the common populace all the time.

Mad Dog, maybe I am wrong and the club has no action or reason to hold this guy accountable but do you seriously think that Dean Brogan would king hit someone simply because he was called a Dick head?

Now this imbecile (Dale) is going to tell his side of the story on the channel 9 (and maybe 10 and 7) news wearing a Adelaide Crows jumper and possibly inflame the situation further, hopefully for his sake and reputation he doesn’t embellish the facts about the altercation because if Dean Brogan has assaulted him he could be charged..

I simply don’t buy the story that all he said was “you play for the wrong side, Dick head” and that’s there is more to the story.

If he supports West Adelaide in the SANFL are they also responsible???......if he supports Chelsea in the PL......are they also responsible????. If he works for McDonalds or a Stock Broker....are they also responsible????...his association with his employer is far stronger than with a club.

If he claims something happened and unjustly represents that club in a negative manor, then yes in someway they are responsible for his actions.

If he was working for a McDonald’s chain and fabricated the truth about some events that happened and then went on a commercial television program (I am sure fox footy channel will pick this coverage up) news service wearing a McDonald’s hat or uniform then yes he will come under undue pressure from his employer, especially if he was found to be fabricating the truth.

Maybe revoking his Adelaide Crows membership (if he has one) is a bit much and out of the Adelaide Football Club control but as he is now wearing an Adelaide Crows jumper he is most definitely a representative of the Adelaide Crows supporter base (see channel 9 news tonight).

I guess if any of my comments on www.bigfooty.com are found to be liable and consequently end up in (or on a) major news service I guess they may. If for some reason my avatar was shown in conjunction with my abrasive comments the Nike Company could take legal action as a form of defamation.

Yep. Then 5AA will attempt to get young 'Dale' on tomorrow night, followed by his appearance on Today Tonight in a segment called 'My terrifying airport ordeal'. Then in 3 weeks time, Brogan will appear on TV in a segment called 'My 3 weeks of hell' talking about how he's lost sleep since the incident.

I suppose the Sunday Mail may also do a piece on what to wear if you're ever involved in an airport punch up with an AFL footballer.

I've been really surprised by the responses in this thread, and have found them reasoned and well thought out....until now....That photo had 'set up' written all over it.
Anyhoo Spring Choke, what would your response be to me calling you a d*ckhead to your face?

And I hope he doesn’t embellish any of the facts of the situation.

If Dean Brogan gets charged with assault and this Dale guy has to give evidence he will be required to tell the same story as he told to the TV cameras. If he does fabricate the story of events he could quite easily lose any chance of winning as the judge will automatically dismiss the case as a lack of evidence and credibility on the plaintiff’s part.

Or at very least the DPP will not be able to call him as a witness to convict Dean Brogan as he has no credibility.

Umm, I don't see this going to trial.

Hard to have much sympathy for either party.

Dale gambled on the assumption that Brogan would show maturity and restraint. Wrongly as it turned out.

I doubt he'll be hurling insults at 200cm/100kg monsters again.

I think crows98 watches too much Law & Order.

Probably not... you are right, but if Dale did and he changed his story, he would be in some serious trouble.

I think bomberclifford is the type of person who would yell all sorts of obscenities at AFL (or Crows players) players to simply try and get a reaction and this is how he gets his jolly’s.
