Sam Martyn should play for Ainslie in CanberraAFL this week

I laughed.. Might rock up part way through the 2nds and hang around for the start of the 1sts. At least it's at Ainslie, which is right behind the social club where I'm going to be watching the Crows game. We'll see what happens.

Riggy....you're definataly one of a kind.

Just trying to figure out wtf your kind is.

Not much action really in lower leagues considering half of the usual suspects are playing for us.

Anyone keen on knowing the Eastern Rangers v Dandenong Stingrays game.... :)

1. West v Norwood is at Richmond, not Norwood.

2. Gee, arbitary report assigning, gotta love that :D. I'll give my usual brief report on Griff, Gunstan and Henderson Sunday night.

Good to see Gunston in the league side:thumbsu:

FWIW Jacky is on a wing on the reserves as at the current rate of injury he may still be yet called upon:o or would we play with 21?

I'm not sure whether to be disappointed that Riggy didn't suggest I head to the 'Gong and report on a game...

(If it were Blacktown, I'd almost be game.)

got confused. I'll still be at Norwood for West vs Norwood

I know I'm one of a kind
and nah, not that interested in those 2 teams.
BUT if it's possible, would you be able to make it to any Geelong vs Calder game this year? need to find out which players Rendell is likely to draft, and if we're drafting from Victoria they'll be from those teams

I didn't know of anyone from the board in Sydney
I'll keep you in mind for future weeks :thumbsu:

Been to see Calder, I love Dion Prestia.

Great to see Talia named on a wing. I think this position will let him get into the play more and he can use his fantastic atheletic ability. Might get a glimpse of what our recruiters got excited over.

I'm so sick of seeing Norwood lose, year after year after year.

Anyone else at the game? Young was pretty good I thought. Needs to work on his kicking as he had some terrible turnovers. Had a lot of the ball, more than ever before, probably close to 20 possessions, just needs to develop more of a hurt factor. Had a heap of spoils, took a nice mark in the first quarter and then got on his bike, bolted from the scene and hit a teammate on the chest, was good. Had a great spoil late in the third and then stayed with the contest to apply a ripping tackle to Lobbe.

Young was probably one of their best. He finished with 21 possessions, including 10 in the first quarter, and took an impressive nine marks.

That bit of play you mentioned, when he got on his bike, was awesome. He really showed some speed and just went for it, backed himself, while the other Redlegs didn't appear so confident. Norwood were pretty shocking though.

The final score was:

West Adelaide 4.6 8.6 11.8 12.10 82
Norwood 2.0 4.1 6.1 10.3 63

I thought so too, so it's not just my bias showing.

And yes, Norwood were pretty shocking. We are pretty shocking. Can't hit a target to save ourselves, can't tackle, can't perform any of the basic skills of football. Still haven't experienced my clubs winning this year, 0-7. :thumbsu:

fortunatley for me my eyes are shithouse and couldn't see half the field at night.

I didn't think Young was bad, but didn't realise he was that good, I gather the person I thought was him that made some massive clangers wasn't him :D

but Norwood were crap, I can see what Bassett wants its just he does have the players to do it.

Yeah his kicking does need to improve a bit, had a few ineffective kicks. Provided some good run from half back though and competed quite well in the 1/1 contests. Yes, there were a couple of goals kicked on him, some though he couldn't do much about.

What Norwood lack is a lead up forward (who can provide some linkage into their F50, they just bombed away tonight), another decent inside mid (Campbell and Lower are good but Zorzi needs to be used more as a utility and less around the stoppages) and with Doyle's absence another big bodied ruckman. Hope to see Dan Gorringe soon though. :thumbsu:

Oh and -CG- are you sure about those stats? :D

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaron Duncan has been named in the forward pocket for Pennant Hills' senior team
And he is only 17! (or is it 16 )

Sam Martyn has not been named in 1sts, 2nds or 18s
Vader, you may have to head out to the ADFA grounds to check if he's playing or not :D

cmndstab, you may have to bug Matty Rendell again to get info on why he isn't at Ainslie :p

I'm also glad to see Gunston in the league. He looked good on the 'Crows in the SANFL' footage. He's built himself up a bit and looks great. Good luck to him.

Amen to that, Young's kicking is not good, kicks far too high.Really needs to improve this facet of his game.
