AFL Club
Adelaide
Other Teams
Soft spot for Brisbane
Maybe I've missed it - but has no-one posted a link up yet for Hughesey's visit to the Crows?

Funny or not, folks would probably be interested.

Some great videos being produced by the club at the moment, and photo features.

We should put them in a thread so people can find them.

I've mentioned it before but could use a thread like this to alert people of upcoming tv/radio appearances and things like SEN podcasts featuring Crows interviews that aren't quite worthy of a new thread, for example if Mark Bickley talks to Sen about half a dozen topics do you post in a thread about an individual topic, or bump some old Mark Bickley thread. Also if it's coming up in say 10 minutes the thread you tell people in might not catch people's attention in time but if people are subscribed to a media thread would know it's something new.

Dave Hughes is about as funny as genital herpes.

Anyone seen talking footy tonight?
Did a small piece on 'Heat' training vs 'Altitude' training.
Every club was in one bucket or the other.
But ours - apparently we did neither
(fair to say we actually had heat training better than most given teh summer ;) )

The question I raise though is this - are we the ONLY club not to have invested themselves in finding an edge?
Could be very interesting if we end up running the season out strong - would definitely be a save for alot of the other clubs if they just stayed at home and trained hard. Or could be interesting for us if we lack at edge mid to late season fitness wise.

I don't know who is doing what as far as just altitude rooms and things like that at home but this year I know Geelong just went to Coffs Harbour, and Collingwood cancelled their usual Arizona trip in favour of staying home.

Everything the club has said suggests they don't see it as a good use of money and that the minor benefits don't last for long.

I question (without any knowledge) the benefits of doing them before Christmas, was it the Gold Coast who went over at the start of December and then ended up having a break in Las Vegas on the way home when some scandal happened, then you have Christmas/New Year breaks etc.

Doing any heat training trips before Xmas is dumb. You need to do it in Jan then return home while its still hot to continue. Then you are ready for hot praccy matches then any early season hot games and have the early season fitness edge.

Your post reminded me of this article: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-23/wednesday-special-summer-training-plans

From that article there doesn't seem to be at first glance any significant correlation between training overseas and success during the season. To be honest I'm quite happy for our club to avoid such an expensive exercise and allocate the money saved in something more simple like better equipment, maybe some new sleds.;)

Patrick Dangerfield will be on 5AA this afternoon, thought I would mention it since no one listens apparently haha and because of his game last night and Caros article.

He will be on after 4:30

More balanced from tredders tonight given we've actually played a game now.

I wonder if we are missing a segment or are they just extending the show in SA.

Anyway also announced The Footy Show will cross to Rory Sloane tomorrow night.

Where do you live?

They crossed to tredders last week and this week (Footy Classfied this is). Given what you've said it sounds like they may do a 'state based' cross at some point in the show for all states.

I'm in SA so I have seen the segments but I've seen "footy classified SA edition" on torrent sites and then tonight at the end of that segment Hutchy said something like "you're watching Adelaide's Footy Classified".
