Is it good?

Wait, no, what am I thinking? Of course it's not. What football song is good?

Yeah, Jane Reilly is probably doing the weather from a dog kennel run by a Crows supporter where a newborn labrador has just been christened 'The Pride of South Australia'...

Had no idea it was being changed.

We need a remix so the players don't look like singing it makes them die a little inside.

HAHA Rod Stewart!

HAH

It isn't their club song, just a supporter song thing.

Rod Stewart HAHAHAH

(Though still better than that bloody J-Lo track they used to play during every break at port games a few years ago. Slightly.)

What the??

This is so embarrassing.

Trying to do what Liverpool Football Club do with their anthem.

“In my heart, in my sole” a Rod Steward song. Anyone who goes to a home game will hear it after the games with the high lights of the first 15 years being played on the super screen.

A good initiative by the Adelaide Football Club and will be good to see if the crowd can get behind it.

“the pride of SA” club song will stay.

They've been playing Rod Stewart to old highlights footage after games...

Urgh.

I suppose it beats Bon Jovi's "It's My Life!" - which made so much sense when related to a football club...

I wonder how much they paid a coked up consultant to come up with this appalling concept?

Or is this another one of Bill "Let me handle it, boys" Sanders' great ideas?

As I was leaving the ground on Saturday night, they started playing it. I thought that's odd. But it is quite a rousing song if they can get the whole crowd singing as one. I like the idea actually. I didn't see the highlights package on the screen though....I was beating a retreat to the mens and then off to the car park.

I see the Members were not consulted AGAIN

What garbage

Why did they not just take "You'll Never Walk Alone" - proven winner, gives you goose bumps.

However if its only on the Big Screen who cares.

The highlights have been good.

TITLE: You're in My Heart
Lyrics

I didn't know what day it was when you walked into the room
I said hello unnoticed, you said goodbye too soon
Breezin' through the clientele, spinnin' yarns that were so lyrical
I really must confess right here that the attraction was purely physical

I took all those habits of yours, which in the beginning were hard to accept
Your fashion sense, your Beardsley prints I chalked up to experience
The big-bosomed lady with a Dutch accent who tried to change my point of view
Her ad lib lines were well rehearsed, but my heart poured out for you

{Refrain}
You're in my heart, you're in my soul
You'll be my breath should I grow old
You are my lover, you're my best friend
You're in my soul

My love for you is immeasurable, my respect for you immense
You're ageless, timeless, lace and fineness, you're beauty and elegance
You're a rhapsody, a comedy, you're a symphony and a play
You're every love song ever written, but honey what do you see in me

You're an essay in glamour, please pardon the grammar, but you're every schoolboy's dream
You're Celtic, United, but baby I've decided you're the best team I've ever seen
And there have been many affairs, many times I felt to leave
But I bite my lip and turn around, 'cause you're the warmest thing I ever found

Honestly... the lyrics speak for themselves. On the strength of one line "you're in my heart, you're in my soul", we're prepared to make ourselves a laughing stock.

********ing ridiculous.

As Wishbone said, just be thankful you have never had to watch highlights with J-Lo music in the background.

I would love to go to a Power game and view some great Power moments and highlights accompanied with some Metallica, ACDC, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix etc.

Im sure the Crows supporters would be happy watching some 97 & 98 Grand Final highlights with some quality tunes in the backround.

Yeah the highlights were good on saturday night. Didn't notice the song though. Heard something gay sounding and tuned out.

Why don't they pick something like Holy Grail? I don't like the song all that much but could handle it. Most people seem to like it. And it does bring back memories of our 97 Grand Final when it was played live before the game.

NEGATIVE: Whoever came up with this idea should be sacked. It reeks of John Reids dirty work.

POSITIVE: It could be worse. If they had have consulted ParalowiePiwer for favourite song, we would all be singing Bronski Beat tunes at fulltime.

Ha, ha another one for the highlights reel from the Adelaide hierachy. I reckon bugger Rod Stewart, I suggest we all do the Nutbush at Half time.

It reeks of when my Grandma smoked crack to try to be "cool like the younguns". Sorry guys, don't know of many under 40's that "dig" Rod Stewart.

Ahhh c'mon Stiff, I reckon it's so bad it's hilarious. You could just imagine Bill "The Colonel" Sanders and Reidy looking through their record collections -"The Seekers Greatest - no, Hits of 73 - No, Slim Dusty - No, Devine - No, Mike and the Mechanics - No, Ahhh here we go Bill..., how about Rod Stewart"?

damn shoving my mum's old rod stewart records in the shed so that we never had to listen to them again was gonna come back and bite me one day!

sorry guys :o

A good song would be either Holy grail with the line "those big black birds circling overhead" or else greenday "good riddance" would have been a better choice and much more appropriate. But then again we still have the coca cola dance team
