Crows Shed's last hurrah!

So does Port get to use the Shed and/or our new facility?

No to both questions.

But they are asking for a "footprint" the same size as we have there.

They are not necessarily looking for a social centre but more a corporate facility as an investment. One rumour is they will build a nursing home there, probably to put all their old players like Tredders and Senior Burger and the head butting king.

But it will take time to build something like that and some of them don't have that much time left.

thats hardly fair. As an AAMI stadium member I have to walk to the opposite side of the ground from entry to carpark.

Whilst I realise that isn't a significant thing the fact that our carpark got moved so "corporates" could park closer to the entry is a ****ing joke

No

It was all a tactic by Rucci to try and stop us from having our own presence at football park. He wanted the SANFL to force us to either not be allowed to build our new facility or force us to share it with Port. The SANFL basically said to Port that if they wanted functions the SANFL would build a function area, but wouldnt force the Crows to use it. The Crows new facility is only for AFC use.

Since John James has left and they have a real leader down there that isnt influenced by people with chips on their shoulders that are jealous of the AFC (Rucci and Choco) all those ridiculous ideas have been put to bed and they have come up with far more logical plans than previously where they were just trying to get in the way of the Crows plans.

Port want to build a retail area with the land that they have been promised and want to rent it out, I would assume that the SANFL will pocket some coin out of the deal as well, but that seems a much better idea than trying to one up the Crows when they already have a function centre at Alberton that they should be promoting better.

They have their after match at the SANFL Convention centre:rolleyes:

They rolled out the big guns for the last 'minor' round shed party. Interviewed in stage were Triggy, Craigy, Goody, Shirls and ...... Pizza boy!

Triggy said the new facility would be more inclusive for the supports and called the 19th Floor. It would cater for 3000 supporters and be more comfortable. They would be encouraging players and their families to come up after rehab, etc and mingle with the fans.

As a token of the old shed they had some of the roof streamers cut down and they will be put up in the new facility.

What about the Players wall??? That's so good :thumbsu: I couldn't hear a single thing that was said by the people on the stage because if you're at the back of the Shed, it's all muffled.
Also, who is Pizza Boy???

It was simply an awesome way to finish an already awesome day by going back to the shed for the last time! It was packed, the interviews were great and I managed to snag a few signatures from the likes of Porpoise, Otten, Reilly etc etc! Couldn't find the BBQ though, where was it? Also, the new facility sounds bloody good.:thumbsu:

He must mean Douglas, that was the only other player there. However, I've never heard that nickname for Dougy before!

Ohh yep - wasn't the pizza boy on some pizza place ad called "Dougie"??

Pizza Boy = Richie Douglas.

The Shed will be used for any AFC home finals this year and potentially away finals. This was confirmed on Sat. night by Triggy.

One interesting point from the Craigy interview: When quizzed about the high number of stats and large number of handballs to kicks he commented "yeah, we probably over did the handball a bit today".

Both Craigy and Triggy rammed home the 19th man importance, all players seemed to be coached to refer to it in their interviews too with Goody saying how they guys can notice the crowd when the opposition is kicking for goal.

If they did decide to keep it I would hope they re-did it. There are some glaring spelling mistakes on there.

They announced that Rowdy was going to be there, and the crowd went bezerk, but it ended up being Douglas instead. I want my $2 back! Only kidding :p.
