This has possibly been done in the past but an article from the Crows website regarding Sando's views on SOO listed the Crows squad by state.
http://www.afc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/4417/newsid/135499/default.aspx

Looking at the SA and Vic lists within our very own squad it's quite possible to field 2 competitive SOO teams

Here'is my humble attempt..... SA in Bold kicking up and Milburn coaching the Vics.

Luke Brown....... Jason Porplyzia...... Cam Ellis-Yolmen
Will Young........... Luke Thompson........ Andy Otten

Jared Petrenko...... James Craig...... Matt Wright
Rick Henderson......... Daniel Talia......... Sam Shaw

Brodie Smith....... Brodie Martin ......Rory Laird
David Mackay........ Brent Reilly........... Jarryd Lyons

Matt Jaensch ......Lewis Johnston ......Graham Johncock
Richard Douglas .......Josh Jenkins .........Chris Knights

Michael Doughty...... Ben Rutten (VC) .....Brad Symes
Brad Crouch ..............Tom Lynch.............. Sam Kerridge

Sam Jacobs
Scott Thompson (C)
Bernie Vince

Bench
Mitch Grigg
Nick Joyce

Shaun McKernan
Patrick Dangerfield (C)
Rory Sloane (VC)

Bench
Dylan Orval

The benches are a little light on and currently 3 Victorians are injured so wouldn't be possible to play this week, but the concept shows good depth in the Crows squad in most positions and of course our 2 star forwards have a rest as well as the club captain, perhaps they can umpire:eek:

The result should be close but I'm thinking the Vics would have the edge.

I've been thinking about this SOO divide, as in which states would play.

What about east (vic nsw qld and tas) v west (sa wa and nt) I don't have the patience to look at actual players, so don't know how even it would be.

interesting idea in terms of an NBA-style exhibition game. But to have any meaning it really has to be state v state, and from a South Australian football perspective SOO has to be SA v Vic.

Apart from the 97/98 grand finals, in my experience nothing has come close to matching the intensity of the SA v Vic matches under lights at Footy Park in the 1980s. The first SOO game I went to as a naive young kid in 1986 made a huge impression; it was a formative lesson in the outer limits of human behaviour in a public space :D. Magnificent game of footy.

Unfortunately those days are long gone now, the SOO landscape was forever changed once the WAFL and SANFL joined the expanded VFL.

Evenly matched? The Vics would destroy SA! Good think Crouch isn't allowed to play yet...
Lolz at this thread.

With Tippett and walker not qualifying for either team... both offences look... bad.

SA's defence would dominate. Vics midfield would too, but the real crows managed to win with only Thommo last year a few times. Would be interesting.
