Many years ago I fractured ribs in a game. Hurt like hell that night. I missed one week then played again. It was clearly still sore but figured I’d be ok.
First minute of the game someone dropped their knees into the exact spot.
Man did it hurt. It still hurts to this day.

In Jono Browns book they talk about someone (I think it was Nigel Lappin) having busted ribs leading up to one of the GF's, so they did a session where they just beat the shit out of him and said "if he gets through this he's good to play the GF".
