I reckon we have played pretty well every game this year with 11 under 20 games. GWS was 12!

I only hope that we show that fanatical level of aggression that we showed in our earlier games and hold onto our tackles. If we can bring that attitude and show us supporters that the team is moving forward all I can ask for. I feel that our recent performances indicate we are moving backwards. Lose but not lets disgraced.

I am also interested to see how Jones performs. His career is on the line. This is his time to step up. Fingers crossed he can show us that he is worthy of staying at the Crows.

I still find team selection confusing.
We are obviously playing too short in the backlines.
I'm surprised Jones comes in after just one good game.
But to fit him in, we push Smith out of HBF to a wing and then Seedsman to HFF after having the best start to the season ever.
RoC played two good games and gets a gig but Worrell has probably played 3-4 really good games and still cant get a look in, even when we have injuries.
Good to see Tex rested and to have a look at RT and Fog up forward and hopefully they are focal points up there.
Lets hope the players pressure and tackle hard today

Nickys has openly spoken about the long bombs in some of the after game interviews. By what i can gather he doesnt like them, its not what he wants, and hes been telling the boys that. The lads need to break these bad habits... The long bombs forwards are sole crushing for everyone...

Well of all our midfielders and runners who can actually do a lace out pass - other than Sloane I’m struggling to name one. Laird - no, Keays - no, Smith - no, Seedsman - no, Mackay - heck no, Crouch when fit - no he handballs. Now our youngsters might but they don’t get enough time in the midfield just yet.

Honestly though, my feeling for every professional sport is that giving effort is the absolute minimum requirement of a professional athlete.

I 100% agree if you lose because you are out talented there is no shame in that.

I just won’t be praising them for giving effort, as that is expected

My impression from the pressers is that it's a plan under instruction to bring the ball in deep. Deep entries.
It has to be a plan; that, or it's the dumbest football they've played for a while.
I hate that random bombing, quick-kick around the shoulder or side-on. Hate it.

I agree with your summary about him wanting deep entries, but i feel bombing long in hope and going deep to the correct contest/area are very different things. Im happy to go deep when done right. Thats how i have interpreted him anyhow.

We just suck at being able to do that.
We panic, look at our feet and bomb it in hope.
