It has to be winning a final as the measuring stick. Last year was the finals making year and he survived by the injury excuse. No worries, that’s done. But it doesn’t mean the expectations are delayed by a full season.
I have no problem with this, after 5 years, winning finals is a minimum of what Nicks needs to do. If we don’t then absolutely he would be gone at the end of the year. The discussion was about sacking him this week if we lost tonight.

Simply won’t happen.

Will melt if Nicks inhibits our attacking flair to keep our scores against down playing into Freo and Longmuir's hands, and we lose 70 - 60.

Yeh, no way he gets sacked whilst we’re still a mathematical chance. Even then, can’t see our board moving on him until next year.

He won't be sacked tonight if we lose, but it should've happened after last year's Richmond loss regardless of his misguided and brainless extension. That was the time to do it and, now, as Scorpus said, we're in limbo with him at the helm.

I reckon we brought in a couple of chess pieces to progress his removal.

Our 4 wins this season have come against sides we did beat last year. So we are currently no better off wins wise than last season. Tonight’s game is a non-negotiable must win If we are serious about playing finals. I’m judging Nicks on matches tonight more so than the previous matches as this a like for like matchup as David Kings said.

Be really nice to get a win, but not the end of the world if we don't - still able to give it a real go from 4-3.
5-2 would be more comforting. In my eyes we still need to develop that sense of confidence about winning consistently. Last week I tipped the Crows but wasnt confident. Its still the same this week. Tipped the Crows but not confident. Making it 5-2 will help build that. So this IS an important game for our credibility.

If we can knock off Freo then we could possibly win the following 4 games....with Collingwood at the G being a real measuring stick for us.

3:10 am first bounce on a Friday morning….

Less than ideal…club truly needs to consider me prior to scheduling

Remember that game like it was yesterday. The set up to Tippett was insane, young Tex was a weapon
His retirement highlights package is going to be some video.
