Aaron Davey is the crumbing forward sensation of the moment. He's 177cm, quick, chases and tackles well, clever and Aboriginal.

We've lacked a crumber for a long time and will soon have a 178cm, quick, clever, good tackling Aboriginal player coming back - Graham Johncock.

Our defence is going well without him and we keep hearing he doesn't have the motor for midfield, especially now he has to regain fitness.

How about it?

Andy has taken over Stiffy's defensive role beautifully. Leave him there and play Stiffy up forward, who we know can kick goals. It's a good position for us to be in, especially during a game when we could so easily swap the 2 of them forward or back to meet whatever needs.

Some have mentioned Travis Varcoe. But I think he will go relatively early. I wouldn't use a 1st round draft pick on a crumber. A 1st rounder should always be used on a midfielder, kpp or ruckman IMO.

Leon Davies looks like he could be on the outer ring at Collingwood so maybe he might be worth a look-se.

Can remember him playing some real good footy & possibly a change of club/environment would do him the world of good.

I don't think Johncock is a good crumber. He's a good forward but watch the way he gets his goals. He's good on the lead. A strong mark for his size. Tackles hard to turnover the ball. Goes in hard and out muscles his opponents. But not much crumbing in the traditional style. This is not taking anything away from him as a forward. He is one of the best small forwards in the comp in my opinion, I just don't think crumbing is his thing.

I think he would be good enough to adapt. He reads the play so very well that I think he would know where to be when the big men fly!

There's a few in the TAC cup.. Nahas, can be a crumber, plays in the midfield as well, should be available late because of his height (175cm). Phillips, impressive in U18 championships. (177cm) Theres also quite a few others.

I think theres a Davey playing for SouthAdelaide isnt there? Any 'lation?
Zippy and aboriginal too.

We just gotta be careful our side doesnt become too aboriginal focussed.....they do go missing.

I watched the game last week and as quite suprised wit Davey. For a little guy, he is hard at it. Could be a good little player.

Are you sure? I always thought Alwyn was older.

I'm pretty sure that's right. He's also 3cm taller but 14kg heavier so you'd think may need some work to get up to scratch. Haven't seen him play but brothers are not always made equal eg. Michael & Ricky O'Loughlin

Call him a small forward then I don't care, but if he can kick goals the label doesn't matter. Would think he'd be a better long term option there than Skipworth and has more versatility if needed elsewhere.

2 years, a corked thigh and a half of football later and the club's finally listening. Stiffy's got the crumbing gig. Let's hope it continues.

Topjars and Springy told us about Alwyn Davey then too. Too bad no-one was listening.

Problem is we don't have a crumbing forward coming through.

I was really hoping Bernie was going to make the break through early this year, unfortunately he may have missed his chance.

I really wish Craig had played him deeper in the forwarld lines this year, instead of across HF where he wandered around like a lost dog for the most of it.
