Ralph, I`m not trying "to stop any kind of dissent", I just see it as we`re Freo supporters so we should be optimistic about our future and not go down the path of eating our own(ie. Richmond).

I don`t think CC has done anything wrong with the handling of the players but of course he`s under pressure to perform, as he should be. Apart from media speculation about a rift between coach and players, nothing I`ve seen or heard from the club supports this.

Your argument implies that it is entirely the Coaches fault that the team has underperformed. Maybe just maybe some of the players in that team
aren't capable of playing any better. As a purely hypothetical exercise ask yourself this, how many of the Docker players do you honestly think would get a regular game at the Eagles and conversly how many of the Eagles players would get a regular game at the Dockers?

As for our players making WC’s side and vice versa? I don't know how useful that is, I consider them a top 4 team, and us a 5-8 team. If I could be bothered making a composite team, I think it would be evenly spread from both clubs. Taking each player in isolation, most of each team's best 22 would have some reasonable chance of making the other's best 22. But we'd probably have only 7-8 who would genuinely improve WC, but I doubt any other team would be any different. Thats still a good core, with a decent support cast, around which we should have a finals side.

I didn’t mean to imply it is entirelyCC’s fault. I certainly believe the players have to shoulder some of the blame. But at the end of the day, the buck stops at the coach as it is he who ultimately is responsible for extracting the best out of the players. To me that has not happened enough. Some weeks we play blinders, then we lose to hacks. The talent is there, but not being harnessed properly/consistently … and that is CC’s job.

After 2003, it is reasonable to think we would at least make the finals in the subsequent years. WC, Geelong and the Saints were all considered to have similar potential at the time, but now they are well ahead of us. CC must have done a good job in 2003, but now I feel he does not have the players support, and that’s my main reason he should be sacked.
