I'd actually be more worried about the so called "supporters" who are currently looking at wanting to lose most of the games this year for even more high draft picks. Actively supporting a losing culture is much worse.

That really gets under my skin, it's bad enough from the opposition bringing up the constant topic of whether or not we tanked in 07 but its still being brought up now (move on!), I heard Tigers fans saying we were tanking in R1 (at the game) and a Bombers fan Sat night, scumbags!

I must admit, I enjoy discussing the negatives of a game and ways of improving the team, club, gameplan etc just as much as I enjoying speaking of the positives. Both are equally important in my opinion and should be discussed accordingly. The whole "protected species" attitude some posters have towards players and the club is rubbish!

I agree. When its warranted, the criticism should be there because we should not be deluding ourselves. But sometimes it goes over the top, especially when some of the negatives aren't even factual due to emotion overriding logic.

I would have to say that legendofski clown has really set the agenda this week. Not sure what else he can threaten us with next week.

Well aparently he wont be back, but i guess we'll see how long that lasts. He doesn't know the meaning of "Constructive criticism". Just threatens to abandon the club. phht.

That is how I view things.

Criticize by all means, but for heaven's sake keep it in perspective and make it objective.

And don't be afraid to mix in positives with the criticisms, it makes things a lot more balanced.

I think too many people post in the heat of the moment, when angry and upset - or drunk. :D

He certainly has set the benchmark for reactive posts, that's for sure.

I will be the first to admit that the last few weeks I have been criticizing the players. But I am not going to stop criticizing them and make the same old excuses for them. It's about time that we as supporters and fans of this great club ask our players who pull on the Navy Blue jumper to show some guts and give us 100%, I don't care if we loose if we give 100% but to do what they have been doing the last few weeks is a disgrace. I am not blaming the young kids in our side I am blaming the seniors our so called leadership group. I am sick of duds and soft ***** going on the raid and newspapers asking us to be patient when they are the ones who haven't given a ____ about this club for the last 6 years. I am just scared that with our supporters lapping up the lame excuses from these players and whats worse making excuses for them we are always going to be at the bottom of the ladder. I like a lot of you love this great club, I have brought my membership without fail year in years out, even when I gave struggled to have any cash I have still paid my membership. If our players show as much passion for this great club as our fans and supporters do then we wouldn't be the laughing stock of the comp, to me it seems like we aren't getting anywhere fast. ALL I WANT IS 100% GUTS AND COURAGE. I am not asking for much at all and actually I am entitled to ask for more.

One of the best posts on the board for a very long time!

We show the passion week in week out in the stands, it is about time the 22 blokes on the field did the same. Watching the Crows yesterday is what we should aim for, under the pump, injuries and they hardened up and fought through it, that is what we should demand from our blokes every week.

Plenty of positives this year, and plenty of things that need to be improved, but for crying out loud, can we please win a game :D

And its only round 4

Exactly, and have a look at some of the "obstacles" that some of our players are dealing with:

Chris Judd - coming off a serious groin injury
Nick Stevens - regaining his match fitness after being out for 11 months
Brad Fisher - coming off a broken hand, getting his touch back
Jarrad Waite - settling in a CHB, trying to make the spot his own
Shaun Hampson - having an arthriscope just before the NAB Cup

All of this, whilst the list is still learning a new game plan under a new coach. Add to this that we have the youngest list in the AFL, and it all starts to add up.

You always here coaches and recruiting guys say that once a player gets to 50 games, they start to get into their stride, and play some consistent footy. Without looking at the stats, here are some of our players who have not played 50 games:

Marc Murphy
Paul Bower
Bryce Gibbs
Michael Jamieson
Shaun Hampson
Matthew Kreuzer
Cameron Cloke
Richard Hadley
Darren Pfieffer
Jordan Russell

Add to that list, the guys that have played just over 50 games of AFL footy

Jordan Bannister - 63
Eddie Betts - 60
Andrew Carrazzo - 66
Brad Fisher - 72
Kade Simpson - 68

That's 15 players out of 22 that represented Carlton on Saturday night with less than 75 games experience to their names. Pretty compelling argument for patience I would have thought.

He could threaten to rejoin our board.

Silly prick. Seems a little arse-about having an obviously passionate, if mentally deficient, Bluebagger in self-imposed exile whilst Collingwood scum are roaming free all over the place in here.

Thankyou for the perspective.

The thought I keep returning to is ----- a squad of 50 to 100 gamers, been through the hard times, talented, grew together and still very young.

This is us in the near future. I am not frightened to suggest this is the platform for a 'blue dynasty'.
