Says the one labeling people racist for calling an average footballer...an average footballer. Grow up

If he is an average footballer in a side getting smashed weekly by 12 goals why are you putting him at the bottom end of the pack ?

Calm down Acker.
He is far from the only one saying Skinner will get delisted. I would say that the majority of people think he will be.
He was a mature age recruit, has been at the club 2 years, and has still only played about 2 full games and a few as a sub. Logic would say that he is in trouble.

23 years old at the start of next season and his biggest problem up till this year was he lacked stamina as a lot of Aboriginal kids from remote areas do.

Has just started running out over 75% game time and is kicking a goal a game in a side struggling to kick 9 goals a match and only averages 40% of ball forward of center in matches

Unlike a few others he can kick beyond 50 mt - I think there are others closer to the exit than he is at the moment such as Sherman

He shows enough to suggest with another preseason in him he will improve

It is not as if the Bulldogs have a lot of guys who can play forward, contest a mark and kick a goal are kicking down the door demanding selection right now.

He has only played 6 games this year and over 60% of our list have kicked less goals than him this year

Spot on. He deserves another chance. He lead into more contests than any other player in our forward line, and showed some really great skill. Stuffed a few things up but he's played 7 games, give him a break. He lacks a tank? That can be fixed with a big pre-season. He lacks confidence? Surely kicking him out of the team isn't going to fix that.
He needs more games under his belt, and he definitely deserves them.

Updated Contracts on first post
Sherman & Veszpremi contracted I found out

What does Coons have to-do for an extension after 2013???

This isn’t bashing up on Adam I have a lot of respect and time for him but how long can you live off past deeds and shuffle along with a few bright moments albeit none of his fault (knee)
My opinion is that he can play at least 15 out of 22 games as well as being in the top 5 players for us at least 10 times I would be happy to sign him to a 2 year contract.

He is only 27 he still has years of AFL left in him, it’s just that knee....

This sounds about right and is probably where the club's thinking is at. First he has to show in 2013 that he can play good footy fairly consistently, but if he gets on the park most weeks I don't think he's a serious candidate for delisting.

No doubt his contract value will be less than it used to be ... unless of course he can regain his 2008 form. That would be fantastic if he could.

one year extensions at a time for him.

My take on the contract extensions for the guys coming OOC at the end of 2013.

Murphy- 1 year extensions as long as his body is good.
Cross- retire/1 year. Dependant on whether or not he's in best 22 at end of year.
Vez- delist/1 year. See Crossy.
Gia - retired
Tutt - delisted/1 or 2 years. Hard to tell because of so many injuries. The length is dependant on improvement.
Cooney - 1 year with performance targets to automatically trigger 2nd year.
Roberts - 1 year on current development, 2 years if exceeds expectations.
Jones - 2 years (1 if he goes backwards again)
Pearce - 2 years
Libba - 3 years
Howard - 2 years (1 if he stagnates)
Talia - 3 years
Marko - delisted/ 1 year, dependent on performance.
Picken - 3 years.

BRG93 some updates you've missed...

BULLDOGS veteran Robert Murphy has committed to guiding the club's young pups until the end of 2014.
http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/lo...ntract-extension/story-fnelctok-1226540973918

WILL Minson will not follow Brian Lake out the Whitten Oval door, re-signing with the Western Bulldogs until the end of 2014.
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...western-bulldogs/story-e6frg6n6-1226491967142

LIAM PICKEN ..been rewarded with another contract that will tie him to the Whitten Oval until the end of 2015.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/mor...ar-from-the-tree/story-e6frf9jf-1226579578166

Koby Stevens ...He has been offered a two-year contract by the Dogs
http://www.maribyrnongweekly.com.au/story/407983/koby-stevens-picks-western-bulldogs/

Tom Young I think 2 years??

Nick Lower ...It was a risk that paid off on Monday when the Dogs signed Lower, 25, for a season as a free agent.
http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/th...western-bulldogs/story-fnelctok-1226530832343

JJ and Campbell would have new contracts because they were promoted onto the main list wouldn't they??
Brett would be on a 2 year rookie contract???

So out of contract I think are these
Morris
Marko
Talia
Howard
Libba
Pearce
Fletcher
Coons
Gia
Vespa
Cross
Grant
Ado
Lower
Tutt also sorry

Greenwood
Redpath
Jong
Austin

That's a pretty big list 15 main list spots and 4 rookie spots...

So from that list, I can see us losing Vesz, Greenwood, Redpath, Jong, Austin and Grant to delistings while Gia to retirement and probably Howard being traded. Then Cross could possibly be a retirement and Marko might be moved on at the end of the year too.

I think we will see one more year with Howard, Macca seems to like him from something I was reading the other day, can't remember where though.

Personally, depending on the rest of the year of course, I'd be shopping around Grant to get pretty much anything for him because I think someone would be interested.

My take so far from this season

Morris re-sign if he wants
Marko ???
Talia re-sign
Howard ???
Libba re-sign
Pearce ???
Fletcher re-sign
Coons ???
Gia gone
Vespa gone
Cross ???
Grant hate to say it but gone
Ado ???
Lower re-sign
Tutt ???

Greenwood ???
Redpath ???
Jong ???
Austin ???

So I would say 5 new contracts 3 gone i.e. trade, delist, retire 11 are still playing for contracts or they are gone..

I would say these contracts plus our trade/draft period will either make or break B-Mac they have to get 2013 right or it could get ugly....

My take:

Morris - re-sign/retire
Marko - recreation as a forward/delist
Talia - re-sign
Howard - trade/delist
Libba - re-sign immediately
Pearce - re-sign
Fletcher - re-sign
Coons - re-sign
Gia - retire
Vespa - delist
Cross - retire/re-sign
Grant - trade/delist
Ado - re-sign (1 yr)/trade
Lower - re-sign
Greenwood - delist
Redpath - delist
Jong - re-sign
Austin - upgrade

Long way to go yet though.
