Re-signings announced in the Bulletin today: Jackson Allen, Zac Smith, Trent Mckenzie and Seb Tape.

Mckenzie and Tape have re-signed until the end of 2015 while Smith and Allen have re-signed until the end of next year (2014). That now makes Mckenzie and Tape along with Gary, Charlie and Jack Martin to have the longest running contracts for the club.

The article also states Rory is very close to re-signing until 2015 while talks with Shaw have begun. According to the article Jared Brennan and Jarrod Harbrow are contracted until the end of 2014 so perhaps they both signed a one year extension recently. I won't change the first post unless there is further confirmation of that.

Prestia an important re-signing being a Vic boy and a future gun, joy!!
He hasn't re-signed yet. Lets not forget Caddy was apparently close to signing last season too. There would no doubt be interest in him back in Victoria so don't count your chickens just yet.

He will re-sign. There has been no talk of him leaving and pea heart Caddy was never close to re-signing, if you think that he was your naive. He said he will decide at the end of the year. Prestia has not said that.

While I agree with what your saying to an extent that anything is possible and not to celebrate prematurely, I am confident well get his signature.

I didn't say I thought Caddy would re-sign, I just remember reading an article/a few articles that said he was close to re-signing and Campbell Brown stating he believed he would stay because his girlfriend moved to the GC. I don't think Prestia will leave but things change so quickly in footy, you just never know. I think the Suns are probably on that borderline of the last year or two in which draftees from the '92 class might request to leave. I think some players might be careful with what they do now with what happened to Josh Toy.

I think the re-signing line of importance right now stands at Thompson, Prestia, Shaw then Gorringe. Nicholls could quickly join that list if he continues his form from the NEAFL pre-season match into the AFL season.

Never said you did think that. I said that if you think he came close your naive.

Your right there though, those are the remaining names we need to
secure badly.

Our early form this year will be the making or breaking for some of the soon to be out of contract players, some solid wins and a bit of confidence will see them keen to sign on to a future powerhouse, on the other hand more poor starts and weak efforts will see people wanting to jump ship.

This is such an important year for us, 8-10 wins and everyone will start to believe, 3 again and we are in for a very bumpy ride.

They are not boys any more, many have had 3 pre seasons and consist of a team of top 10 draft picks and hand picked 17 YO's and seniors, time to step the **** up

Amen! I think we have all forgotten how much injury we had last year and lack of experienced defenders and still got 3. Now we have a solid backline, another preseason in the 92'ers. The ability to free up Stanley to go forward and inclusion of Rischitelli will be bigger than some think. Throw 1x Jaeger O Meara in to the mix and hay presto = 6-10 wins

I think Rory Thompson is the most important out of contract player that GCS need to sign up at the moment.

As a young key defender it would imperative to get him to sign for another 2-3 years.

If he has luck with injuries he has the potential to be a Suns player for the next 10 years.

Article in the Bully today RE: Prestia.

Said he is keen on re-signing after overcoming homesickness in his first couple of years. Likely to be done early on in the H&A season.

Wow never knew he was struggling. Certainly didn't struggle with form in most games.

Glad to hear he's on the wagon. And he's not a ball butchering pea heart like Caddy...
