Dion is looking to re-sign.
Nothing concrete, but to be honest I'm not too too worried about Dion. Hopefully we will stay updated throughout the season. Quotes from him seemed very encouraging.

If he really is going to look at it in rond 3 or 4, then expect it done mid-season I guess? If we're waiting until the end of the year though, we could be in trouble.

pfft trouble...we've made some wicked trades, and barely lost much in the process in the grand scheme of things. Yes will be unfortunate to lose him, but realistically, seeing Hickey netted us the Goddard compo which got us Lonergan. Caddy got us the Geelong Compo if I remember right - Prestia should at the minimum fetch about the same currency.
So look at the positives if its a short term negative I guess?
Im tipping he will re sign though to probably 2015 like most of the others

I'd say there is an outside chance of him leaving but there's a better chance hell stay at this stage I think.

Hey gold coast fans no disrespect in this post but just wondering when your new facilitys will be started? And if its not soon do you think that will be a reson why some players leave? btw this post is not a troll i love watching your boys play! i think the suns will be very hard to knock off soon.

, most of want to know the same thing. Personally ive got no clue, but I think the comm games would be our best bet. I also think it would play a part in players leaving, but that's personal opinion.

I know he'll cost a lot but what would you guys expect for a Brendan Matera trade? Under contract till 2014, so he'd be pretty hard to pry away as well. I rate him a lot and think he will be a fantastic player in the future.
That Port Adelaide game really sticks out in my mind as to what he is able to produce.

No way at all we'd trade Fish Matera. If he did want to go anywhere, it'd be back to West Coast.

I think it is more likely that any players who leave will be those that believe they may be restricted in their opportunities at senior level.
With Lonergan and Martin expected to impact over the next few years it would be reasonable to assume players of a similar ilk would be considering their options. Also established clubs get a new player who is not only young but is AFL ready.
Gorringe or Nicholls would be prime examples of players who would be considered players of interest if they were looking for a new start.

i think the afl should help the suns out with out proper facilities they cant train in a tin shed for ever. the afl has helped heeps off clubs with there new training bases.

Broughton was brought on board with a year to go on his contract at Freo. It may have already been renewed (like Warnock's was) but it's hard to tell. We're not told much about the senior player contracts.

I reckon you lot must have had some shady deal with Freo. I just can't fathom them giving him away for almost nothing. It's either that or I'm a terrible judge of talent.

I'm a little confused by what you mean, but Lyon didn't rate Broughton very highly at all from what I understand after chatting with Freo posters. His prospects on playing senior footy had he stayed there weren't very high at all. You'd have to talk to them about the details I guess?
