Rumour D Mac

D Mac is a good servant of the club. Let's all hold hands together and have 1 minute of silence and have thoughts on how lucky we are of having him trying his guts out week by week, and never wanting to make a big fuss on contract talks or talks of him having an interstate return.

On a serious note, he's actually doing pretty well this year I feel. His tackles seem to be a bit more clingy these days. Could he break the top 15 barrier this year? Good chance with all the injuries out!

I was surprised when reading about past best and fairests that he has NEVER had a top 10 finish... I dont have the stats for all placings during his career, wonder where he has finished. Pretty damning when he has been a regular in the side for the last 10 years.

Dont think thats quite how that works but could be wrong.

I doubt it would work like that.

Net effect they suggest.

Still feel we trade Sloane out than him walking (if his foot allows him to)

Disappointing.

I have a feeling we'd go that route with trading Sloane if we got McGovern.

This is a total bullshit thread, but for the shits and giggles, be careful what you wish for. For the sort of compo/pick/trade we'd get for Dmac, I'd prefer Dmac playing as he is. K Thanx.

I dunno, I'd definitely take the draft pick instead.

Dmac is just an average outside midfielder, and it's better to force Dmac out of our side next season instead of Milera (who are fighting for that 4th outside midfielder position currently).

Milera and Mackay played in the same team earlier this year.

The issue is Smith coming back.

After all, our outside battery goes to:

Seedsman
Smith
Atkins
Milera/Mackay/Others

5 pure outside players is too many, especially as there are at least two defensively frail ones there in Atkins and Milera/Mackay/Other. This may change if Milera cements himself more once he gets fit, thus putting Atkins in danger for the last spot.

Just because his management are looking for a "suitor" to "please his wife" doesn't mean he's necessarily looking to leave the club :p
More like looking for something to play off in his contract negotiations.
I’d call his bluff.

Honestly, breaking the top 20 in average votes per game should be Mackays goal.

**** me, it's actually depressing that we've given that potato 100 games more then he should have had.

What’s she look like?...

Edit: don’t worry I looked her up... umm.. it wouldn’t be too hard to find her someone keen to be a “suitor”.. I’d do it!..

Has she got any size to her.
What’s the chance the F/SD could have a bit more resistance to rag dolling.

Has he even actually won a BOG yet?.. I think it was meantioned last year during a game that he hasn’t till that point..

Edit: fixed it so it makes sense.. bloody predictive text!..

There was a game in the wet some years back where he best on, Phil Walsh was coach.

Walsh mentioned him in the press conference. He wasn't BOG. Coaches votes were like this:

Round 3 - Adelaide vs Melbourne
9 – Rory Sloane (Adel)
6 – David Mackay (Adel)
6 – Scott Thompson (Adel)
5 – Tom McDonald (Melb)
2 – Heritier Lumumba (Melb)
2 – Bernie Vince (Melb)

He also got his one and only Brownlow vote in that match.

3. S Thompson (Adel)
2. R Sloane (Adel)
1. D Mackay (Adel)

Tough crowd, he was fantastic that day and from what I recall was every bit as impressive as Sloane. In any case I'm not here to fly the flag for him. I think he's copped a bit more heat than he deserves at times but he's never been a world beater and certainly should have been in and out of the side a lot more over the years.

He played well in that game against Melbourne in Darwin last year... especially in that first quarter. Was on fire.... towelling Melbourne up and even kicked a couple of great goals.. if he could’ve done that for four quarters every game of his career he would’ve been a Brownlow contender!.. well.. ok... he would’ve atleast got a few BOG’s awarded to him..

Vaguely remember him under craigy looking polished on the wing. Thought he was good player lol

Probably was off my meds or something
