That’s not why he’s no good though. He’s actually quite courageous for someone of his slight build.

His problem is his skills are just ok, and his footy brain is a couple of rungs below ok.

When you’re that size, those two things need to be on point. And with him, they aren’t, they never have been and they never will be.

Never said he wasn't courageous, I'm actually implying that he's very courageous but his size and limitations make him look like a boy amongst men.

This is not a reaction to yesterday but part of a cross-board look at our list. I hope we dont re-sign him any longer than 1 year at a time or we offer him up for trade or let him go.

The only thing that I’d be remotely happy with (if they keep him) is if he is delisted and redrafted as a rookie.. if they give him another year, without making him a lowly paid rookie, and keep Murphy as a rookie I’ll ****in melt.

I’d rather see Murphy (or Gallucci or Milera or Wilson or even McPherson when he comes good) play dmacs role for every remaining game this year even if Murphy or others mentioned have never played that position.. atleast you know Murphy’s skills are a thousand times better and that Murphy is gonna compete and give 150%.

I missed yesterday’s game. But I saw the highlowlights reel on the news, and that incident where Mackay could not get the ball across the line for a behind, should have been the one that stamped his card forever.

Imagine having this senior player leading by example in the opening minutes of a grand final.

There's so much going on in that gif. If he picks it up straight away he's fine. Time and space. Even after the first fumble he probably still gets a kick away if he grabs it on the second go. Then after two fumbles, no worries, there's immediate pressure, just fumble it over the line. It is at this point where fumbling, having become the intended task, now causes a logic loop in Dave's brain and becomes impossible to achieve, despite being the one thing he was so proficient in mere seconds earlier.

No thanks. It terms of AFL standard Mackay hovers between poor and average, in other words his best is average. We can get that level of performance from a lot of first round picks barely out of the draft, this means he's easily replaced. Furthermore, a rookie spot can be put to better use trying to find someone better. I wish Mackay well in the future, if that means him moving to another club then so be it, but it's best we made a clean break.
