I'm sure the Chump will answer in good time but for me St Marys are clearly the best side in it and I was of that view before Saturday.

I think Kew is second best just in front of parade and not far ahead of Eltham and us.

St Johns is next with Monash and south grouped together and elsternwick and Glen eira staring down the barrel.

Not convined all of the other positions are set in stone though.

Surely Kew are clearly the best side? They are undefeated on top of the ladder.

I now think there is a log jam between Parade, St Marys, Eltham and Ivanhoe. Although i think St Johns are still capable of pushing for the top 4.?

Groups as I see them. Roughly ordered but with no conviction.

Top 4 likely

Kew
Eltham
St Marys

Battle for final spot
Ivanhoe
Parade

Mid table
Monash
St Johns
Souths

Relegation
Elsternwick
Glen Eira

SMS are a 10 goal better side at home. But I think Kew have to be marked as the better side at this stage of the year.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the year pans out

Had a look through the top 6 to see who has a good run home (second half of the year) in regards to playing the other 5 sides in contention (writing off monash, south, elsternwick and GE)

HOME GAMES
KEW - Eltham, St Johns
ELTHAM - St Johns, Parade,
SMS - Parade, Kew, Ivanhoe, Eltham
PARADE - Ivanhoe, St Johns, Kew
IVANHOE - Kew, Eltham
ST JOHNS - Ivanhoe, SMS

This weeks predictions

Elsternwick vs South Melbourne- 12 points. A game that could see South open up some breathing space from the relegation battle, I'm told they have been hit hard by injury so expect it to be a close game.

Eltham vs Ivanhoe- 18 points, Home ground advantage the real difference

St Marys vs St Johns- 50 points

Old Paradians vs Monash- 12 points

Glen Eira vs Kew - 100 points

As we are pretty much at the half way point of the year, i thought i might do an assesment of where each team will finish at the end of the year and the best few players on each team.

KEW - (likely finish) premiers. (best players) Allman, Brazalle, Maibaum

PARADE - 3rd. D Boundy, Bellizia, M Boundy

SMS - Runner up. Latsas, Tanner, Gatehouse

ELTHAM - 4th. Pepyat, Brown, Ciavola

IVANHOE - 5th. Harris, Cotter, Kingsford

ST JOHNS - 6th. Mara, Dyker, Costas

STH MELB - 7th. Mahoney, Lane, Belestra

ELSTERNWICK - 8th. Thornton, Oldfield, Mahony

MONASH - 9th. Cherian, Fletcher, Mackie

GLEN EIRA - 10th. Carstensen, Entwistle

From what i have seen it has been a great year of football, and i expect the second half to only get better.

Round 9.
Monash Gryphons v St Marys Salesian
Elsternwick v St Johns
Ivanhoe
v South Melbourne
Glen Eira v Old Eltham
Kew
v Old Paradians

This Week.
Old Eltham - Elsternwick
St Marys Salesian - Old Paradians
Ivanhoe - Glen Eira
South Melbourne - Kew
St Johns
- Monash Gryphoms

How the hell does David Boundy get selected in the B to D4 side every year? Does this guy have photos of the selectors or something??? All I know is he isn't that good.

South Melbourne to beat Monash by 37 - very competitive against Kew and the Gryphons appear to be out of answers currently.

Kew by 29 against Elsternwick - Talk of a big return over the weekend for the Bears. Will be too strong but expect Elsternwick to work them over on their ground.

Old Eltham by 30 over St Johns - St Johns are hitting a good patch of form but they are still a fair way off the top 4 and I don't expect them to beat the tough Eltham outfit.

Old Paradians by 15 over Ivanhoe - 'Hoes have good depth and sit just out of the 4 however Parade will be looking to stem the flow of 2 losses in a row and will do so at home.

St Marys by an exorbitant amount against Glen Eira. Crisis time at the Glen Eira and St Marys are certainly the other team to beat beside the undefeated Bears. Could be 120+

What happened to Kew last week, from what I hear Souths are struggling to name two full teams.. Was very surprised to see your ones down at 3qtr time.

Monash to beat Souths by 12 points - Monash a different team at home.

Kew by 35 against Elsternwick - Backing the bears to respond after a disappointing result last week.

Old Eltham by 30 over St Johns - Eltham too strong at home

Ivanhoe by 6 over parade

St Marys by 80 over Glen Eira.

TIPS:

South melb
Kew
Eltham
Ivanhoe
SMS

Every game to be under a 6 goal margin due to the weather. Wouldnt be surprised if there were a few upsets too.

Monash Gryphons - South Melbourne
Elsternwick - Kew
Old Eltham
- St Johns
Old Paradians - Ivanhoe
Glen Eira - St Marys Salesian

Ah.Has "Dame Complacency" taken up residence in High Street Kew? Possibly, The Wicks like close, hand-to-hand combat. ie: close checking, pressure game tactics. Probable a good tune up for next week against St Marys. Oh, wait a minute. They lost! Hmmm. How can that be? Coach of the year dispatched his chargers to the beach for a recovery session. Ignoring the courtesy protocol of the aftermatch. Talk about sore loosers!

LOL. He's the leading goalkicker in D2 with close to 50. A very good VFL player prior to playing D2. I think someone who can handle VFL can handle mixing it with D grade Ammos. Your comments are more rediculous than someone bagging Gary Ablett for making All Australian.

Or perhaps Gary Ablett making all Austrian? Come on, it's the Ammos. It's not what you know but who you know. Seriously? Div 2? Don't count on him getting a game.

I don't care if he plays or not. Just saying he's more than worthy. Saw enough of Boundy at Northern Bullants to know he's capable of making any Ammos Team. Even A-Grade sides.

Round 12.
Monash v Old Eltham . Eltham by a bit.
Elstrenwick v Glen Eira. Wicks.
St Marys v Kew. Kew.
Sth Melb Dist. v Old Parade. Parade.
St Johns v Ivanhoe. Jocs, just.

Weather WILL be a factor.

Round 12.
Monash v Old Eltham . Monash are due
Elstrenwick v Glen Eira. Glen Eira Game moved to the big oval, would tip the wicks on the normal ground.
St Marys v Kew. Kew. Although I'd love to know what happened the last two weeks
Sth Melb Dist. v Old Parade. Parade.
St Johns v Ivanhoe. Jocs, home ground advantage

Tips for this week.

Eltham by 31 over Monash.
Elsternwick to virtually seal their spot in D2 for 2015 by 40 points over Glen Eira
St Marys over Kew by 8 goals. Have a feeling that Kew is going to find the second half of the year a lot tougher.
Parade over South by 2 points. Parade missing key players and may struggle to get over the line.
Hoes by 15 over St Johns. I think the Hoes have the edge in ability and should get over the line.

MATCH OF THE ROUND -Kew, just. - St Marys appear to have a heap of talent out of the side, where as Kew will regain all of theirs.
