You'd say SMS are gone having the toughest run home.
I'd say the winner out of Therry/Bentleigh will stay in D2

thanks for the welcome!! i play at bentleigh so you can imagine how things are down here at the moment!! i do believe sms are a sure thing for d3 in 09 but itll be an interesting game round 18 at arthur st though!!

were confident of knocking over therry penola tomorrow as we beat them at john pascoe fawkner reserve in round 3 so you can say we have a bit of an edge. besides, arthur st is always a hard proposition for opposing teams & therry penola have never played us at home.

i dont know either of them... some of the lads who follow this forum keep ribbing me saying IM the red & the blue but i categorically want to say now that im NOT - i joined only last night!! are these lads at bentleigh?? i dont even know that!!

Mate I'm not one to have a go at people around here... but you can't hide in the closet pal for the last month and then jump out and have a go at people who actually write things on here with some facts and knowledge.

Drifter is no where near in the same boat as jascave etc. He has credential on here and is good value if you want to find something about a certain team or player.

ive got to say old paradians were pretty good last saturday shutting us down after 1/4 time - sage was unstoppable with 7 goals & brabender was always a threat... look out old westbourne tomorrow!!

From memory Salesians did get a few back late in the year did they not? 1 M Hazell always gives a team hope as well.

Probably the round of the season. With most matches have huge bearing on ladder positions.

I tipped 2 from 5 last week. Hopefully I can do a bit better this time:

ESL v GE. The result of this game will have a lot of bearing on that much sought after 4th spot. If GE win then OW and OP are nearly out of contention. But if ESL win the race blows wide open again. After watching ESL last week, I can't see GE beating them, especially not at home. Beluszar and Hickey to dominate. ESL by 5 goals.

Bentleigh vs TP. Another huge game. Both are in serious relegation troubles. I think still have enough stars to get over the line. Bent by 3 goals

SMS vs Werr. Tipping SMS to forfeit, that way they won't lose as much percentage as if they had actually played the ladder leaders!! nah Werribee by 80 points.

Ivanhoe V Banyule. Banyule were very disappointing last week, and will look to bounce back. Ivanhgoe have been solid all year, and this wo'nt be any different. Both teams have a lot to play for, but Banyule have shown the goods all season and will win by 25 points.

OW v OP. They nearly got us last time did OP. We have improved since but so have they judging by their recent results. Huge game, winner has a shot at finals, loser will start putting more planning into the footy trip, than the gameday. OW by 4 goals.

I think this week is #380, having just surpassed the club record. Amazingly never played a reserves game. Given he is still playing very good footy (his best in a few years IMO), would love to see him notch up the 400 next year....

interesting you bring salesians of 2007 up. we played them in round 18 & needed to win to avoid relegation. we did just that... but only just. amir banks kicked a goal at the 35 minute mark of the final quarter to give us the buffer we needed. the siren went as soon as the ball was thrown up in the middle!! if we hadnt kicked that goal, williamstown cyms wouldve been playing in d2 this year & we wouldve been playing in d3... the difference between us after percentage was worked out was 6 points!!

hazell played a blinder that day as well i recall to no avail. didnt know he went to st bedes/mentone though.

i heard he had done that recently. he moved well last week i might add but does he have a suspect left knee? he had a massive brace on it & sometimes he seemed restricted. how old is brabender?
