Already gave my match report.... but I'll put in my club report for BHN....
BHN.........
Ground - Short but fairly wide, good cover of grass but not the prettiest looking surface. With all that rain it held up very well and never got muddy. 5/10
Rooms - Big enough for everyone, good showers. Bench and exercise bike provided. 8-10
Canteen - I didn't get a chance to buy anything as I was standing in the rain all day, but from what I hear they do a pretty good job. 8-10
Bar - Nice and warm! View of the ground is great for huddling spectators... good choice of grog. Has everyone moved to $3.50 beers now? 8-10
Attitude - Everything is running smoothly down at BHN and they are a great bunch to play against. 9-10 (1 point off for giving out VB as the players awards...this practice should be banned! Draught as a minimum!)

Not sure who rated the West Brunswick ground but they get a bix crossfor the showers on the weekend. Mud was everywhere and a luke warm 1cm trickle of water does not do a lot to get the mud off or to warm up.
Was The ground muddy in general or was it just a centre wicket issue?
Seems early for mud to be prevailent.
Waz, The strange look of our surface at Elgar has to do with the 2 different grasses.
There is the good covering of cooch grass all the way up the centre corridor which BHN planted 5 years ago; then there is the darker patchy crap the council planted repeatedly over the years and now just sits in clumps here and there on the outer reaches of the ground.
The cooch is definitely the way to go, even though it turns yellow during winter. It won't die off in summer and does not need much water at all. Trick is not to cut it too short though. Rolling is better for it during winter.
don't forget our original poster abba lonie.
Waz, our coach looked to congratulate your coach after the siren but could not locate him amongst your celebrations. Please pass on his congratulations.
What about the President's Cup (yes I know some idiots with sticks use that name)? Given that Simon Evans was instrumental in reviving BHN from a basket case when they entered the VAFA and this year Kotsa has taken the club even further off field; combined with your excellent administration work over the last few years; it would be fitting appreciation of those people.
In both cases it has been a fantastic effort to turn the clubs around and gain respect of their peers both on and off the ground.
Hopefully we will see both clubs competing for the cup in higher grades as the years roll on.
All RC need to do is change their 2s ump and they will be very difficult to dislike.
RC had a bloke who umped the ressies for years"'Johnny" something and from what I read on here BHN have just lost a club timekeeper what about combining the 2 surnames.
Still $3 stubbies at NB.
Love the VB prizes at BHN! VB = the Very Best.
Yes... It was better than I expected after seeing it during the cricket season.... If both grounds were in the same condition, would you rather play on the one next to the creek? Its a little bigger?
That's harsh....Didn't think he was too bad. (Good actually compared to a couple)
BTW - we much prefer being hated anyways.....ha ha
That was Johnny Salter.(At RC) One hell of an awesome bloke, gentleman and scholar......what was the BHN blokes name again? (Dont mean to be disrespectful)
Daryl Brunning.
Son played for us then moved on to another club.
Daryl stayed and was our team manager, Club Member and time keeper for many years. In later years when cancer and strokes took their toll he was still doing timekeeping for both games. And remained our Member right up until the end.
It would be a fitting honour to name it after two blokes who worked hard for their clubs without being players. The true life blood of our sort of clubs.
Why not toss a coin to see who's name is first Brunning / Salter....... Salter / Brunning.
Then get it struck ready to be awarded for our return fixture at KB.

He's done OK in the past, but struggled on Saturday. Silly from our boys to mouth off but I'm amazed a man of his dimensions hasn't built up a thicker skin over the years.

I rekon the Salter cup for ressies (As he LOVED the two's and would be truly honored even if it is "only" for the two's) and Brunning for the seniors???
