Goes under the radar in the league but rarely gets beaten. I think he is the best defender in the game.
Not the most attacking but can play against talls or smalls - proved that against Fevola and Chapman.

Is he capable of being an AA back pocket or Hbf?

ATM, I have him in a coin toss with Nathan Bassett...I just wanted a more mixed side, but we can't hide the fact that Bassett, Rutten, McLeod and Johncock will all get AA.

And IMO Bassett would get the nod because he has a more attacking side to his game.

Neither Bassett or Morris should get AA, and it would downright ignorant to suggest that Adelaide deserve more than half of the All-Australian backline, and considering that they're a definite to get half of it, with Rutten, McLeod and Johncock all certainties, the selectors won't give it to Bassett.

The fact is, guys like Clement, Scarlett, Whitnall, Bowden and Hudghton are probably all more likely than either Bassett or Morris, and I dare say they'd be more deserving, at least in my opinion.

Ok whatever champ.

FWIW Clement craps all over Morris both defensively and attacking wise.

3 from Adel (as mentioned) J.Bowden, Whitnall and Milburn will be the AA backline.
Clement...a little overrated IMO. Morris a little unlucky, but will not make it!

My last post of the AA team was this:
B: J Bowden ~ B Rutten ~ D Morris
HB: G Johncock ~ L Whitnall ~ A McLeod

Then again, Clement (who I also think has been over-rated by many and been put in teams on reputation), Hudghton and Bassett are all fighting for the spot Morris is in.

mcleod should not make it considering he will miss the remainder of the season

hudghton is twice that of basset or morris. hudghton has single handely kept stkilda in games that without him we would have not had a chance in

The fact that Clement kills his opponent every week, the fact that he can play on anyone (Killed Williams, Killed Thompson) and the fact that he has one of the best attacking games for a defender, means he should be the first one picked. His year has been superb.

If it was out of Morris or Bassett, id take Bassett every day of the week. Morris nearly always beats, or breaks even with his opponent, but isnt really a playmaker. There are a few other backmen in the AFL that are as good, or better than Morris in the defensive aspect, that also set up the play coming off the backline a bit more. Definately a chance in years to come, but not yet.

You are a TOY, an absolute toy. McLeod will miss 3-4 games, and yet if you include these games of 0 impact, his gap to the next worthy adversaries is what, the same as the gap between the last St Kilda premiership...oh my bad. I would prefer to see Fred in the AA team than Rutten (and yes of course Hudghton is two of Bassett and Morris, that makes complete sense (facts are normallly useful to back up such statements)), however this is unlikely which is rather unfortunate.
