This kid is just going from strength to strength. It's amazing to watch him, he has improved immensely from this time last season and i have no doubt within 3 years will be regarded in the top 10 players in the league. A fantastic recruit at #2, really one out of the box.

Hopefully he can win the ANZAC medal he unfortunately didn't win last year. In the Anzac Day clash this is where stars are born e.g Lovett for Essendon and Daisy for Collingwood. I hope Cox, Toovey or Dick (if he plays) step up to the plate.

People have said since we took him that he is second fiddle compared to Murphy and Ellis. Well I will say this now. Thomas is the class of the 2005 Draft. He will be the best player taken from that Draft. He was taken as a player ready for senior footy, but with a vision that he could improve and turn into something special. Well he obviously already is.

He is quicker than Murphy, he can win the ball as much as Murphy, he is confident, he takes players on, he loves the big stage, he makes smart decisions, he is elusive, has a giant leap and runs the lines, has great hands, and is a one touch player. He has now gone past Murphy and is the game breaker on our list. In 2 or 3 years when he has built the body right up he will just about be the franchise player in the league.

He and Pendlebury will carry our midfield for years to come.

I think pendles will be the best, so much untapped talent in that kid its not funny! These two in the middle with a hard nut (PLEASE KICK ON STANNERZZZ!!!!) and if we can find a ruckman, its dynasty time!

In Pendlebury and Thomas I am confident we will have 2 of the 3 best players from that draft, and they are both midfielders which is what we need.

The decision to overlook Ellis has been vindicated already IMO.

Massive fan of Daisy - as well as being a great player, he adds a bit of flair to our game, something we have not had in recent history.

Hope he is right for the ANZAC day clash.

For mine he stepped up a notch again on the weekend . He looked assured , skilful and confident (as usual) . Showed he will become a midfielder rather than just a flashy flanker .
He looks like a rover from days gone by .

Thomas and Pendles both stood out in terms of ball handling on the wet day, i dont remember either of them fumbling the wet ball which is a brilliant sign

class shines out in the wet, and these two stood out

Mark McGough the big exception here...

nah he had great ball handling skills, he was simply slow and couldn't kick

thomas and pendles, both showed they have great ball handling skills, are both one grab players, can both do the inside and outside stuff, mcgough was purely inside.......a poor version of s.o'bree

Thomas is a star of the future and is miles ahead of Ellis, but Murphy is still in front of thomas. Thomas is quicker and gets just as much of the ball, but Murphy is playing midfield all game every game, thomas plays a lot across half back and a lot of his touches come from chipping around. Murphy is holding down the midfield for carlton (a poor side) already and gets tagged most weeks. Thomas is more spectacular, but murphy is a hard, skilled mid. Murphy is a cousins clone (Without the drugs). Just a couple of weeks ago Thomas was getting ahead of himself against the eagles and played a poor game. Collingwood did well by starting him on the bench the next week. Thomas can be a show pony.

We should compare these players in 5 years.

They should both have fantastic careers, but at the moment Murphy is in front of thomas.

bit rough suggesting thomas can be a show pony. I think the beauty of thomas this year is he has been far from a show pony. He has been a workhorse who is probably close to leading 1 % at the club this year. He has been fantasitc and could well be leadining the copeland.

I agree murphy has it a bit tougher as he is getting tagged. I would not trade Thomas for murphy and you would not trade either. I think we can agree both clubs have done well.

I agree Murphy is the better player right now. They are certainly different types, Murphy is the guy who will get you 1st use and 30+ touches, Thomas might get only 15-20 but will do special things with it, kick goals and be a matchwinner .

All teams need both and and both teams will be very happy with their picks.
