I've defended Thomas non stop over the years....potentially he is out best play, I've stood by that, and still do.

One day he will literally tear a game to shreds.

He is building, tonight was just a taste.

not sure why robert walls awarded heater the television. heater played well, but thomas i reckon was instrumental in the win. I thought daisy was best on ground.

Nick Maxwell got the kick/clearance that led to the anthony goal. He's a great captain for a young lad. I love it when a player blossoms like that.

Sidebottom, and Cam wood also should get a mention.

Cam wood spun me out. He bloody grew up tonight.

I just checked out the stats, credited with 19 disposals and 3 tackles.

Is it just me or was that one of the best 19 touch, 3 tackle games you're ever likely to see?

He seriously runs so hard its amazing, and people call him a showpony that doesn't play for the team

Great game Daisy, your gut running is inspirational, hopefully the media get off his back about not getting enough footy.

I was saying the exact same thing to my family, he ran hard and applied pressure to multiple players at a time, great game from daisy.:thumbsu:

Have said a couple of times over this year that we are seeing the evolution of Dale Thomas at the moment. This year he has done a lot more work defensively and spent more time collecting inside contested ball. We are now starting to see this combined with his flair and hard running courage. He's getting closer every week to the player Collingwood were hoping for in my book.

Fabulous game by Thomas. People get fooled by the hair and the flair, but this boy does a lot of the grunt work and hard running that makes this team tick.

I'm surprised he didn't get any wraps on the Game Day and the Footy Show this morning - his work rate was such a vital part of the comeback.

Was best on ground for mine also......for the reasons already mentioned.

In a game where possessions are grossly overated....Thomas' pressure, attack on the football, gut-running and use of the ball was second to none. If only he could have snagged that flyer in the second quarter on the goal line. All in about 65% game time.

To all Carlton fans who get hot and heavy over Marc Murphy and slam Thomas. One of these guys is made for finals football.....the other is a very good Supercoach player.

Nobody in their right mind could ever call this kid a downhill skiier.

And on another note.......Robert Walls gold last night. One minute using Adelaides enormous possession count to explain their dominance and then later on inferring (when the pendulum had swung our way) that they were over using the football. Footballs greatest joke. Is he a "Special Comments" man or simply a regurgitator of stats and drawing conclusions from these? Idiot

Daisy had the game of his life

watching him gut run was inspirational

i have a feeling this massive hitout in the heat will hold us in good stead over the Cats

we know we can keep on running :D

Always thought he was overrated but watching him on the tele last two weeks is quickly turning my opinion around

If you want to use stats here are his:

19 possessions (above his average for the year)
89% efficiency (2nd best for the season)
69% game time (5th least for the season)

So stats wise he still had a good game in a shorter amount of game time, but he was even better than what the stats say.:thumbsu:

He was brilliant. It would be nice if the sheep around here dropped the rubbish myths about him and truly appreciate the kind of player he is.

Yep, he has gone from severely overrated to underrated over the past 12 months. Every loved him, thought he was a star, and then when he was down, they all said he was a show pony and an overrated hack. Well, last night definitely shows he has a lot of talent. Good work Dale.

BTW, not being a d**k or anything, but does he have any good/close mates at the club? Was looking at Collingwood training photos and he looked sort of unhappy and everyone was sort of in their little groups while he was on his own. Even when the team did some laps he was on his own and the rest of the team were jogging in their little friendship circles. Also didn't seem to be talking it up with any of his team mates before the game last night, unlike the rest of them.

Or is he just genuinely quiet and likes to go about his business on his own?

If you watch these videos you will see that he is quite popular amongst the boys. He seems to have a good friendship with Harry O'Brien. Also, he's much better in front of camera at the club than on the Footy Show.

Totally agree, best game in the Black and White easily.

Some of his run and carry were second to none.

That moment in the last were he bounced off Stevens with his head taking the ball with him and just went running off was brilliant.

On ya Daisy :thumbsu:

My only criticism of Daisy is this:

He needs to put some meat on. At the moment he seems to be bouncing off other players. Perhaps a bit more weight would help here.

CT

Thomas and Dick type players are never going to be "solid" physically.
We need them to be that player that bounces off the big hit, collects the ball and either feeds it off or scores.
