i have no doubt if Craigy got hold of him he would make him a better player, probably a more than solid AFL standard player.

Wow, another 'solid'. Cool :o

Its just a shame for white he signed a extension this yr.

Jee, I couldn't be happier he's contracted. Makes it a less likely chance we'll approach this dud.

give them 3rd rounder and $6000 in a paper bag so they break even this yr and i reckon we have a deal!

They should think themselves lucky, just to get the paper bag (Without the money)

devil is in the detail;)

the shame for him is if he stays where he is he'll be the same player only 2 yrs older when his contract is up again. Obviously wanted the safety of a contract, but was a dumb career move imo.

Surely a suitable arrangement could be made here.

Adelaide get White + Port's 1st draft pick (#16 overall)
Port get Adelaide's 5th draft pick (#75 overall)

We put him on a 1-year contract and cull him at the end of 2008. How is that a bad suggestion all-round?

He is worth our 3rd round pick(pick 43) IMO.

Wouldnt mind if that happened anything else and he is not worth it.

Port asked for pick 15 and we offered pick 16 which was rejected 2 years ago considering he has done nothing since then you would consider that his value has steeply declined in that time. He is most probably more value to Port than what they will get in return for a trade.

He was actually replying to Kane's post but forgot to hit the quote button. :D

Somehow I very much doubt it.

Stiffy is way smarter than that! :p

Its interesting reading what some of you think Damon is worth, especially considering several weeks ago you were also trying to evaluate Ken McGregors worth.... especially considering how close there numbers are over the past 2 years ....

Heres some examples of McGregors worth:

macca23, pjcrows, Vader
"Our best trade for him IMO is to package him up with pick 10 to the bullies for pick 5. They are interested, and he wiould be a good fit for them."

out of order
"thats underselling kenny really, he is a key forward/defender. Should get a first rounder at around 10ish by himself imo."

Dandy Go
"I've said it before and I'll say it again.
We'll get AT LEAST a late 1st round pick for McGregor. "

IslingtonCrow
"I'd do Rivers as a straight swap, but would much prefer a forward."

So for Ken (who was uncontracted and wanting to leave at the time) the concensus seemed to be either using him to upgrade pick 10 to pick 5, straight swapping for someone like Rivers, or a first rounder (at around pick 10).

Yet for Damon who has outperformed Ken in past 2 years and is younger, while having to stay out of the way of Tredders (in a side that performed poorly last year) we seem to be saying a pick around 43 if we are lucky.

I'm sorry but this just doesn't add up...... I can only put it down to sides overvaluing their own players and undervaluing those of other clubs (we all do it).

Apparently his player review interview went for 5 hours

must have been plenty to talk about....obviously he wants to move and clearly the club want to hold onto him

He had to introduce himself to the coaching panel ... that took a fair bit of time.

No way! what a dud, had one good game this year don't need him anyway with Gill, Hentschel, McGregor, Sellar

I would say this is why your club might consider White.

For some reason I have not been able to phathom your coach seems reluctant to pick McGregor. Gill seems to going ok but still remains pretty uncertain. Hentschel will be up against it coming back from that injury and you cannot expect Sellar to go from SANFL reserves to key AFL target in the space of one year.

White would offer a surer bet up forward that any of those mentioned (other than McGregor who your coach does not play).

I would have last year but i think we now have enough half decent forwards.

McGregor
Gill
Welsh
Perrie (if he stays)
Bock

Plus Hentschel to come back

He'd be a reasonable back up but i don't know about much more.

Unless we developed him into a backline player who can go up forward on the occasion i don't see him as a player that the crows need.
