We have all these South Aussies on here claiming him to be the next best spinner behind Macgill and how ********e white is however according to baggy green he has been dropped not from the team but from the squad of the south aussie team.

Where to now?

He doesnt turn it enough to be a test spinner or have enough weapons to hurt batsmen.

Discuss.

Umm have you been on here recently?

We (South Aussies) have been saying how much of a hack he is and how much out of form he is. Cullen Bailey is miles better.

Have you actually been here recently? Or are you just a troll?

Every South Aussie on these boards has been saying that he should be dropped for weeks. Cullen Bailey is Australias future spinner and owns Dan Cullen.

Bailey for PM

it is interesting that prior to today, Bob had never posted on the cricket board

Which troll is it?

On the topic, Cullen definitely has all the tools to play international cricket. What's going wrong is in his head.

In his first season he was more attacking and not afraid to give it flight. It appears that, similar to Hauritz, one-day bowling has ruined his style, where he has been choosing economy over wicket-taking, whereas a great like Warne would accept being hit at if it meant wickets.

Cullen needs to get the defensive mindset out of his head, because in his quest for one-day economy he has actually become less economical because his offerings are flatter, more predictable and move less.

Good posts in here. He is just out of form and is dropped accordingly because Bailey is bowling better than him and batting better, something he is naturally better at anyways, he has opened in grade cricket recently.

But a player doesn't lose talent, you don't get picked for Aus unless you can play that's for sure. He has a lot at his disposal but TJ is spot on with his analysis. Just needs to get his mind set and re-focus on bowling his best attacking bowling, that is where he suceeded when he first came onto the scene. He was always a little bit ahead of Bailey in terms of development but Bailey has come on and is now well ahead.

Also leggies are always going to be loved more than offies in this country all due to Warne so Bailey would have a big head start to claim a test spot over Cullen. Cullen can do it but is going to have to work damn hard to find his form again.

You will find that it was the same before Warne

Dan Cullen should retire from one day cricket.

Cullen did drop a catch last night which he should have taken but Cosgrove almost pulled off a miracle runout a la White, nice stop then flick... if he hit batsman would have been out by miles

was hunting to eat...will go hungry unless he can get a lame one...

Shame for Dan - im sure he will bounce back

Cricket is an odd sport - 18months to 2yrs ago im sure S Clark was struggling to get into the NSW side IICR and wham, look at him now...probally a pernamenet fixture in the Test team

if Dan works hard enough he will be back

im actually a bit of a fan of Dans (despite being a Victorian) he obviously has some real ability, now dont take this as a troll you South Aussies, but i reckon your coaching setup in Adelaide is the cause for alot of his issues, there doesnt seem to be much direction there at the moment

Prior to the season starting , i think most of us would have rated the kids coming out of SA as amongst the most exciting in the country, none of them seem to have come on, with the possible exception of Tait. Is it all the players fault? Would someone like Cullen or Cosgrove perform better at another State with better disciplines?
