Injury Dane Swan

Oh really.. when have you looked at a buckley coached side over the last 5 yrs and said yep.. thats what i want.. i for one have not. 5 yrs man!
If the team we had now were fit and firing I'd be fairly happy, or if some members of the team he took over didn't act like spoilt little bitches they would've looked good.
But what the **** does this have to do with Swan breaking his leg? This is the dumbfounding part. I thought surely no one could blame Buckley or even Davoren for this one but once again I was proved wrong.

FFS.

Swanny i was referring to his injury as a metaphor. Of another season lost I feel.

I was at the game last night, and sorry to see Dane Swan get hurt like that, but not surprised it happened at the SCG.

That's the third broken leg there in 6 years, joining Mark Seaby and Gary Rohan. Plus numerous other really bad injuries - PCLs, knees, hamstrings, ankles, you name it, many of them season ending.

The SCG has been an injury graveyard and must be one of the most dangerous grounds in the AFL.

Gary Rohan's injury was caused by someone's full body weight slide tackling his shin and snapping it in half.

How stupid to blame the ground for it, or even bring it up as though the ground had an impact.

Swan was injured because he fell in an extremely awkward position then had a Swan's player land on him in that extremely awkward position at the worst possible time.

Yep agreed....obviously Daveron's fault.;)

His injury is indicative of where we are at the moment.. the team looks like a shambles and experimental. 5 years of rebuilding and still so much uncertainty as to who we should put here and there.. swans injury is somewhat of a cry for help. When are we ever going to look stable enough. Its uncertainty week in week out i feel again this yr.. im getting sick of it.
seriously how about show some respect !!!! there are other forums for this dribble.

The foot is so black and blue. Tough of him to walk off. I would've been crying. :p
And green and yellow and red, and purple and orange :D

Colourful character that's for sure :D

The more I read the various media reports the more I am saddened, would hate for that to be his last game.

Fingers crossed that we get to see him again this year.
Even if he misses a season it would be great for him to saddle up for another season.
He's tough, a real character

I'm assuming that he's had the surgery now? I'd be interested to know what they have to say after having looked inside and screwed him back together.

Just couldn't get any worse being a pie supporter. Would be so sad to see the end of swan if this is true

The great Swan Dog will be calling it quits I reckon.

So no surgeon has seen him but the view is he's gone?

It very well may be right but I think I will wait until after he's seen an expert surgeon.

God this is depressing though. Champs like him don't deserve such things at the tail end of their careers. It's very similar to Judd last year and our own Maxxy the year before (not that he was at their level as a player).

Unfortunately guys, if that's true I would say that's it for him. Lisfranc is a nightmare for footballers. This would be the third I know of in the last 20 years - the other two being Matthew Richardson (who has described it as the worst injury of his career) and Mitch Clark (who has never recovered really). You're looking at a minimum of 12 months out to get it right, if it ever returns to 100% at all.

Sad way for a champ to bow out. Love watching him go about it both on and off the field.
