Is lethal in a position to do that? I know he said they shouldn't trade him, but is he making the decisions?
Absolutely he is
Lethal is the Director of Football and all player trades and movements need to be signed off by the Board

Unfortunately you'll struggle to get much better than that, but it's still twice as good as the Hawks got for Franklin and better than just the compo pick. The image is true though - you are dreaming if you think you will get Dangerfield for 1 1st rounder.
We would accept compensation if we thought that was fair.
I don't think you are even trying to be reasonable![]()

R9 this year and R1 next year and pick 14 back to the Cats.
Or
R1 this year and Murdoch (no Gregson, no ****) and not a penny more.

No need to be like that - when a above me contains a trade with 4 picks and 3 players out of Geelong for Dangerfield. You ain't getting mountains of a gold for an out of contract player who will only go to one club.
There should never have been a system based compensation - it affects every club but the one gaining the player. The club gaining the player should be the one that compensates. Moot point anyway as system based compensation will be gone within a year.

Who the **** is jansen and why the **** would brisbane want him.
The pick swap last year was a fair trade. I'm not sure how many times people need to be reminded of that. We ended up with a better player in the first round than Geelong and we got a 12 pick upgrade in the second round.I'm worried that we're going to get pulled up on all this. I have this nagging feeling that the first round pick swap last year was actually the first leg of the trade.
We do Geelong a favour by doing a random pick swap. They do us a favour by not pricing Danger out of our matching range, thus enabling a trade.
I'll be royally pissed off if we get done and sanctioned again.
Yes, I understand it was a fair trade, in and of itself. Geelong not pricing us out is also "reasonable" in the context of their TPP policy. With the benefit of hindsight, however, both actions seem to be "greasing the wheels" for something else to go down. That's the bit that worries me slightly. The pick swap last year was a fair trade. Matching
Pick 9 and future first rounder.
Or pick 9, Murdock and future second or third.
Prefer the picks rather than players involved.
Be surprised is a non match scenario gets over the line.
Speed and height. Seems to be the only one mentioned in the media not just on here that I would begrudgingly accept. Perhaps Gregson but I'm not comfortable with his size. We aren't a tall side.I know several people are mentioning Murdoch but why? His statistics are nothing to write home about. He is a good 2nd tier player, Geelong need him because they have no forward line, we are far from that same boat. I would demand two first rounders and maybe take him but why would anyone trade a first rounder for him. He is a second rounder at best.
If they were prepared to trade up front, we wouldn't be discussing FA. FA wouldnt even be relevant.I'm worried that we're going to get pulled up on all this. I have this nagging feeling that the first round pick swap last year was actually the first leg of the trade.

Because he's NOT a premiership captain or a Brownlow medalist. Danger is a gun player, but he's not as good as Judd at the period of their respective careers. He's a current all Australian, b and f winner. What does it matter if it's ONLY win?

You see no value in someone being the captain of a premiership side? I can guarantee you Bicks wouldn't have been accepted in the Hall of Fame if he wasn't a dual premiership captain. He was a good average player and nohing more. But the esteem is still of value, a lot it would appear...So if he was coming from Hawthorn he would be a more valuable player as he would have played in premierships and playing in a team that was always competitive, won more games and was tagged much less he would have had more Brownlow votes.

There's also a flaw in your argument about playing in a competitive team where one isn't tagged as much; Judd won his Brownlow medal in 2004 when the Eagles were still a mid-table side, as evidenced by finishing 7th on the ladder that year.
Judd's 2004 was just an exceptional season which was capped off with a Brownlow. His career was stellar up until he left the Eagles and he had certainly achieved more accolades than Danger at the same period.
What's the problem? You guys want to first round draft picks. Aish is worth the equivalent of a first round draft pick while pick #20 is only two picks after what would be an end-of-first-round draft pick. With the upgrade of second and third round picks proposed, that balances out two places lost in the first round. How ridiculous. Brisbane get pick 9 and jarred Jansen for aish. Adelaide get pick 20 and Aish for Dangerfield. **** right off.
