In Dangerfield's own words For supporters it is only a Hobby! He earns his living from football so his wants and needs far outway our own.
He lost me at "Hobby"!
^^^they're all laughing at our expense.
Hey, he was the first to know that the Crows had got Clarko as coach this year, so he must know something!Jarman? I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.
This is how far he is off the pulse down at West Lakes

Absolutely disappointed in Paddy for so many reasons.
Everyone can recall at the end of last year him saying that whether we played finals etc would determine whether he signed on again this year.
The club kept its part of the bargain. Paddy hasn't.
In fact, he shamelessly changed the goalposts during the year from team success and finals to family reasons.
Unsaid is that he is prepared to renege on his own word and integrity under pressure from Mardi IMO.
What Mardi should realise is that she could not live the lifestyle that she does without Patrick and his football ability which has been developed over 7 years ( not 8) in Adelaide at the AFC. Signing on for another 2 years would not have been the end of the earth and the Dangerfields could then have moved back to Geelong without any stigma attached to either of them.
Another thing about this whole fiasco is that Paddy has compromised his own integrity publicly time after time with the same old crap being trotted out time after time. "I haven't thought about it. We'll leave that until the end of the season blah blah blah blah fkg blah!!" Right Paddy - you hadn't even thought about it until today had you - hahahahaha.
And as I mentioned above he has only spent 7 years AT the AFC by staying the first year at home for study purposes - you've short-changed us there Paddy and that leaves a big hole in your integrity IMO.
You're a great player Patrick and you've given us everything you have on the field so there is no argument there. But we also paid you in full every year as well so both sides have fulfilled their side of the deal.
Now that Paddy has decided to short change us I want my club to play the hardest ball that has ever been played with a RESTRICTED Free Agent.
Patrick has elected his right to seek to go elsewhere.
Adelaide has the RIGHT to match whatever offer Paddy receives from Geelong or any other club, so to Frank Costa plus all the various Vic journos who are talking about the spirit of Free Agency and we should let Patrick go - that is a sheer invention on your part and I suggest you read the rights of BOTH
parties.
I want and expect Adelaide to match and screw the best possible deal in exchange for the clearance of Paddy if he continues to maintain that he wants to leave.
I am so sick of losing quality players such as Tippett Gunston and now Dangerfield I want my club to hold firm even if it means Danger decides to go into the PSD - (he won't) - and Paddy ends up at Carlton or even hopefully Brisbane. Gary Lyons said that Melbourne would snaffle him up in a heartbeat but he wouldn't even make it that far - Paddy wouldn't dare go in the PSD so any threat about that is nothing more than pure chicken shit.
Time for the AFC to show now that it has the biggest ugliest set of balls around, match the offer and screw the best deal possible out of Geelong.
Amen
You realise keeping him isn't a good thing, right?we will enjoy, Butcher is one of the people freeing up salary cap space for us, we get to keep him. AND pay him bugger all![]()
I would be dancing in the streets if I Clanger had to play at Carlton. Gives a bottom shit Club a chance and it screws over the Cats. win-win-win.
Bloody arrogant thing to say. Club should have made him apologize for that shit statement.
I actually think he will go into the PSD. I agree with what you are saying 100% but think he will screw us over even more by taking the risk of going into the PSD.
He has lied and led us on regarding his future for 12 months now, why wouldn't he screw us over even more by just walking out and going to a Melbourne based club. I think he will just go to the Dees and drive from Moggs Creek everyday.
We'll it's more of a 20% win.
Lose: collateral in draft picks
Lose: a gun player
Win: didn't strengthen a rival, and has potential to compound Carlton's woes (The whole buying players thing)
Admittedly, i think Geelong will go similar to Carlton with Danger, just can't get over that messiah complex they seem to have with him. That never works, and I've followed a few
Well, no, it is a hobby for most supporters, something to do on the weekend kind of thing.
We're die-hard supporters for sure, but it's still something we just do for enjoyment.
Why would a footballer earning 800K pa live in Geelong. Surely Torquay would be the go.He won't. He's bought a house in Geelong 5 minutes from the stadium. He's not going to spend half his life driving to training and back every day. On top of that Geelong want him and he wants to go there - not to Carlton or even Brisbane. I'd bet money on that.

Geelong may only offer us their first. So it may only be one draft pick.
To call it our support a hobby is an insult to most of us on here.![]()
You'd have to be really happy with that outcome .....that said 2 first rounds and a pacy player just as goodgeelong wont risk him going in psd they will trade.
still think it will be 2 top 10s and 2nd rounder imo.
still a bargain.

I'd take Geelongs first over compensation.
We're the minority.![]()
I bet he absolutely understands it. However, be being emotive he is trying to turn the media narrative around to it not being "fair" to match so that Adelaide feel pressured to "do the right thing" and not match. Not going to call FC a moron, but he obviously doesn't understand the principle of restricted free agency.
So we're short one individual who didn't buy in to the team first culture, and we have $1M to spend in trade week.
Seems alright to me. As Phil would say, "next man up".
