Would be great if somehow he got to psd.. and then melb take him.. at least he will be with bernie... those clubs would definitely pick him knowing he will always guve his best.

Be a nice "**** you", but not great because the Crows get nothing. Would be best if Melbourne publicly declared they would (or at least might) take Dangerfield if he went in the draft. Help get the Crows a good deal.

If we can't get player replacements and a ready to go coach - we are in a rebuild.

I don't think it's really hit yet the impact of having to get a new coach. Add this into the mix and we're in full rebuild mode if we can't nail replacement players AND a great coaching option.

If we have two picks around 16, Skippos 's draft predictions have 2 SA boys right there - just a thought.

THEORY

Dangerfield grew up in a Basketball family, Tippet has a basketball background, as does Jenkins.

In light of Jenkins tweet, could we presume that people that don't grow up playing, living and breathing AFL, don't understand what an honour it is to play?

100's of 1000's of young footy players around the country dream of one day playing in the AFL. They don't care about the money, they don't care about contracts, they just want to play footy. When in real life, they are most likely going to struggle to reach the A grade at the local footy club.

Do people with non-footy backgrounds just not understand what footy means to people?

It sickens me to see people so clinical about this. Sure, remain mates with him, but don't relent, be proud and don't tell him he did the right thing.

Footy is more than a job, its a culture and as far as I'm concerned players that don't believe this will never succeed to their full potential.

Yes....My point (which was mentioned) was that they ALREADY had much stronger teams (even without that star player) than Adelaide do..

And what do you think I'm saying ?
ONE player ...in this case Danger does not guarantee a premiership. It's really NOT that hard.

Now ..
Off you go ninether

Does Geelong actually have the picks to trade for him?... i mean if they are trading out their first for Henderson from Carlton then they havent got the picks to trade to us...

If not Geelong then do we go to others and say:
Carlton - First round pick and Menzel
Melbourne - First round and Redden/Aish/Bennell (in three way trade)
St Kilda - First Round and same
and see who comes to the table with the best offer?

Yeah I'll be in stiches getting nothing at all for losing our best player for the last 5 years for nothing.

I believe its called schaudenfraude (?)

Rather have no winners in this than us being the only loser.

Whatever offer Dangerfield signs, it's going to be one that puts compensation in the top category. The problem with that, is that the top category only gives us a first round pick directly after our pick.
Is it possible we could get more than one pick?

This will get ugly at the trade table.

Adelaide.........What will you trade for our best player of the last decade?

Geelong.........Well nothing if you dont match.......surely you wont match or risk losing the compo pick??
We have already traded out our picks to rebuild our team around your ex player.........You cant hold back Patricks future with us???

Adelaide.........We will match!

Geelong.........Then we send him to the PSD and you'll get nothing.

Adelaide........Then you'll have to get him passed Carlton......Their CEO owes us a favour.....Good luck!

I respect Patrick's right to exercise free agency.

I don't respect his smart arsed tweets and interviews. They indicate that he is very immature or a complete dickhead.

Whilst he is one of the top 5 players in the competition, it is easier to replace midfielders than key position players. Whilst he has enabled us to usually win the clearance numbers, we have not been the best midfield in the AFL. We have two of the best inside midfielders (Dangerfield and Thommo) but our lack of outside midfielders has really hurt us. How did West Coast cope against Hawthorn without Pridis and Masten?

At the start of the season, if we lost one player for the season (as well as Brad Crouch:() who would have had the greatest impact;
Talia?
Walker?
Jacobs?
Sloane? or
Dangerfield?

"May our squad stay healthy and our recruiters play a blinder". (old Chinese proverb)

why did he have to lie so much just dont talk?
ive got no doubt most players now days see us as customers rather than supporters.
I think that's what hurts most. The jokes, the baiting almost. It's as if they don't really give a **** how this affects us. I was all prepared for the "he played his heart out for us and gave everything" stance, but I just can't get over the way it's been done. How he's enjoyed giving us bits of false hope and now laughing at our despair. **** him and his dog. May his armpits and crotch be infested with 1000 camel fleas.
