Then your OB was an idiot. It probably didn't adversely affect your pregnancy but it MIGHT have.

"The safest option for women is to abstain from drinking if they are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. This is the advice from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)."
Not really. These guidelines came out in 2009, not 14 years ago when Jenny had her baby. Its still doubtful that low level intake is harmful, but the advice has changed based on new data.

<snip>I can not see us getting anymore than a round 1 pick this year and a round 1 pick next year from Geelong. Therefore in theory it could be something like 10 and 15 resulting in a horrible return for Dangerfield.
Geelong's round 1 next year as pick 15? So you think they will finish 4th in 2016? Why?

Also why is pick 9 this year turned into pick 10? Leuenberger? I cannot see him demanding a first round compo.

Posted in two threads but relevant to both:

I bet it's hard for him to admit after thinking about Danger for free all year.

I think this is exactly what is happening.

Danger said himself:

"I certainly hope that it's a fair deal for both parties – that will obviously take its course – the season has only just finished for us and the free agency period and trade period is some while away," Dangerfield said.

"I think both the Geelong Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club can come to some sort of arrangement.

"I'm not sure what that is but I'm sure it will be fair and equitable for all."

It will definitely be a trade and will be agreed soon.

They want to add Henderson, Dangerfield, Selwood, Zac Smith.

They had quite a number of injuries and they will receive a much easier draw next year. I think they will easilly finish between 4th and 8th next year.

Even if they finish 8th in 2016, Pick 9 (2015) and pick 12 won't be sufficient. We can not accept any future draft pick. We need that tangible pick this year that won't change.

Again, someone not reading before responding? Who is talking about support? I'm talking about the community you raise your kids in. That's why I said they could be raised in years 0-2 for all it matters. Let's face it. He's going to get more support being a superstar at an AFL club than as regular folk ever would, so that's not going to be an issue.
Yes, in terms of the first few years, it doesn't matter about the community but obviously that's not the only consideration or even the main one (if at all). I'm sure Dangerfield's fiancé wants her mum around we she pumps out a baby and if they're going to raise a family there, why wait? They know they're going back to Moggs Creek and may as well have the baby support now than do it Adelaide and then move back later.

I'm glad they're not doing it later, this is the best outcome for the club considering they're obviously moving back to Moggs Creek. One more year and it would pick 14 and suck it up.

We will probably on-trade one of those picks anyway ...

Thats the one right there. We are almost certain to get pick 9 from them this year but next years could end up being in the mid teens which would not be anywhere near sufficient.
Geelong get pd
Adelaide get pick 9 2015 and pick 14 2016. No thanks. We need to get 2 top 10 picks and a player. I dont know how geelong are going to provide this.

They could trade Dangerfield. Then they'd get some top 10 picks...

"I think both the Geelong Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club can come to some sort of arrangement." - Patrick Dangerfield

That sure sounds like a man open to being shopped around to the highest bidder.
We can hold out hope that Patrick can be swayed by $

Well at least Mardi can anyway.

This is why I feel we should be working on with Geelong and the AFLPA is the improved compensation pick.

We should be working with them, not against then. We have to get the best deal anyway we can. We can not be obstinate.

How can anyone begrudge a person for making a decision in the interest of their own happiness? The club would have no problem cutting him if he wasn't performing.
Oh please! You make it sound that he is unhappy in Adelaide. That could not be any further from the truth. Anyone pulling that card out of the pack really has rocks in their head!

Crows, Geelong and the AFLPA should be pushing the AFL to change the concession picks.

They should get the AFL to give the crows pick 1 and 14 in exchange for Dangerfield going to Geelong.

Then the Crows trade pick 1 to the Gold Coast for pick 3 and Bennel.

Therefore, Crows end up with Pick 3, 14 and Bennell for Dangerfield.

Crows happy, Geelong Happy and Gold Coast happy with pick 1.

Crows take Francis with 3, Ryan Burton with pick 13 and Milner with 14 and still have Bennell for the midfield.

Man I wish I had these levels of optimism.

So now Paddy has come out and publically named Geelong thru his B&F speech, and said he had decided a while ago but kept up the facade, can we reasonably assume that the AFL rules are flexible if needed, for VIC clubs to poach from interstate clubs? Is there any way we would be allowed to get away with this?

I will be very disappointed if we do as we have not been linked to a player worthy of a top 10 pick.

Aish does not have the value to trade away is a top 10 pick.
Why would we be publicly linked to anyone?

If we want to nail a good player to our mast, I hope the first we hear of it is when the deal is almost done.
