Saying Joel Selwood ducks isn't a cheap shot. It's not even up for debate, it's a scientific fact.

Audio in this article http://www.fiveaa.com.au/shows/davi...eath-made-decision-difficult-says-dangerfieldHe was on AA this morning, he essentially admitted that when he said "it's absolute crap" back in August about being linked to Geelong on a five year deal that he was lying.
Doesn't seem to matter. If money was a big factor he would pick somewhere other than Melbourne I'm sure. Saint Kilda probably have a fair bit of cap space and much better prospects. I reckon Norf would have cap space and would be able to pay more than 800k and they played in a prelim this year.
I'll be seriously shitty if he goes to Melbourne after they supposedly offered 2 3 last year for him and we'd get shitty compo for him this year
So I compare two afl footballers
You compare danger to your little sister
Danger is currently better than treloar, if I was trading I would trade 2 first rounders for treloar instead of danger

for what it is worth i think Dangerfield will go to the cats for the compo pick and a deal will be done so the crows are traded their pick 9 as well. The reason why i say that is because you would be sill to not use the compo pick in the trade if you were the crows & the cats because it really is a free pick thats will cost the cats nothing and be a good sweetener when the trade is finished. So in the end i think the Crows will get 2 first round picks for Dangerfield, i might be wrong but i dont reckon the cats will be throwing players into the deal unless they are some spuds. If i was after a player it would only be Motlop. Murdoch, Gregson, GHS arent really top liners and are in their top 10-15 players, Gregson most probably has the most potential
Don't see what choice he had. If he said he was going then it would have been triple the distraction for our finals campaign.
i wouldnt worry about Ken Wood, the AFLPA will be having little wispers in Gil's ear which in course will be whispers in Ken's ear and the deal will go throughIt makes sense that we do go for the compo pick, but with Ken Wood watching closely on this entire situation its pretty logical to think if there is a seperate trade that simply doesnt add up it will be declined immediatley.
i think a bogus trade has been done in the pass, i think it had to invole an actual player and not just draft pick swapping, i cant remember who it was but i think it had something to do with St Kildai wouldnt worry about Ken Wood, the AFLPA will be having little wispers in Gil's ear which in course will be whispers in Ken's ear and the deal will go through
I heard that. Same interview only minutes later he talked about how you couldn't believe those journalists who speculate on trade deals. He was on AA this morning, he essentially admitted that when he said "it's absolute crap" back in August about being linked to Geelong on a five year deal that he was lying.

Not too far off mark with treloar 22 yrs old vs danger 25 ... Considering treloar is worth more than an early first round pick it's not far offYou can't honestly believe that?
I'm not even going to go into the extensive list of reasons why this statement is grossly inaccurate.

Of course danger is the better player here and now , treloar one of best u22 mids in league and gws if they're smart will be looking at pick 7 and another high pickIt's way off of the mark.
What are the chances Treloar will be a top 10 midfielder in the league?
What are the chances he'll be a Brownlow medalist?
The gulf between those two standards is huge.
Ps treloar is as well placed as any U22 to become a top 10 mid in leagueIt's way off of the mark.

What also makes it tough is, if a player from Geelong is involved they will have to agree to the trade. Things could get tricky. Why doesn't anyone think Geelong and AFC will just do a trade? One that is better than the compo pick? It's so easy.
AFC and Geelong are not bad at the trade table - usually both clubs are reasonable.
What advantage does Geelong gain for risking PD - a slightly cheaper price?
What advantage does AFC get for risking no compo - a slightly better price?
I think that both clubs are working through their plans, and the only sticking point might be which player or which picks.
Which players become less important in Geelong's list once PD arrives? What other deals are in the fire for both clubs regarding trading of picks? Can a swap of other players be part of this - someone on AFC list that Geelong have a need for?
Lots to play out - but I do not think that either club will burn their good reputation, or PD in this deal.
I hope that both clubs come out after the GF and say "we have sorted out a trade between the clubs" and both can get on with other trades ASAP.
Perhaps it's a Buckley/Malthouse type scenario? The DOC role has become a all care and no responsibility type of role
I don't get the role.at all

Yes we have to go for broke as our start point and the bare minimum is at least twice the value of compo pick ... Hopefully we love a player in draft available at pick 9 and have a deal ready for a menzel and Redden ready as well with our other currency out if thisI'm getting sick of reading "we should accept slightly better than the compo pick" and that will be ok. FFS,
it won't be ok. We have got a top 5 AFL player and a potential brownlow medal winner leaving our club. GWS who is only 5 year old will more than likely receive more for a 21 year old than we will for a 3 time ALL Australian player.
As soon as we match, the restricted/unrestricted free agency part disappears and he simply becomes an uncontracted player.
As a club, we have to set a certain standard and not allow clubs to dictate and demand what we will and what we will not accept for any players leaving our club. This won't be the last time a player leaves out club but we must stand up and say - we won't be walked over.
We have to be willing to hold our nerve and have a certain trade in mind. Geelong will blink first and then we will receive a mutch better trade in return.
However, if we don't it will be the same as every other trade we have done in the past 20 years. We gave up pick 4 for a broken down Wayne Carey FFS. Look atg the Tambling trade, that was awesome. We received bugger all for Gunston and paid massive oiversw fore a rookie listed Jenkins.
We suck at trading. Now it the time to stand up and be counted as a major player. Or Noble had to go before he completely destroys all direction the club is heading in.
