You know, it's almost like GFC supporters feel like since they are at a starting point of paying zero (i.e. AFC not matching a RFA bid), that they don't need to pay fair value. That the trade they will end up with will cost less due to starting from a lower point.

Let's say I'm selling a car, and the car is worth $10k. Someone comes in and offers $1k. Just because they offered less, doesn't mean I'll accept less than whatever is the least I'll take. The least I'll take is decided only by me, and how weak or strong I am in my convictions.

AFC will have a value they believe PD is worth, GFC will too. The resulting trade will come out somewhere in between the two values, regardless of how low GFC start or how high AFC start.

When I sell my car, I push it's value; low km's, full service history, new tyres, etc. PD's value is more subjective, but in the end will be measured by a combination of his contract value and the players/picks traded. Nobody here knows what that will be.

If Pendelbury was up this year and wanted to come to Adelaide i would give up two first rounders and CEY in a heartbeat to get him in the team, but go figure why Cats supportesrs dont think Danger is worth that?

Believe it or not, I too want Adelaide to be compensated fairly. Two first round draft picks as compensation is fair in my mind. What I don't want is Geelong handing over two first round draft picks plus a player or two, as that is overs. So, just as I want the AFL to afford compensation to Adelaide by way of an additional, end of first round compensation draft pick to complement pick #14, I am almost certain that Mr. Dangerfield would echo my sentiments. I dare say that if you were to ask young Paddy how he feels about Geelong, the team he wishes to play for and succeed with, handing over precious first round draft picks and players, I'd say the reception you'd receive would be cooler than luke warm.

What's the problem? You guys want to first round draft picks. Aish is worth the equivalent of a first round draft pick while pick #20 is only two picks after what would be an end-of-first-round draft pick. With the upgrade of second and third round picks proposed, that balances out two places lost in the first round.

So Adelaide in effect get the equivalent of value of two first round draft picks for Danger. It's a lot better compensation than just one pick #14 and most importantly, Geelong don't get away with getting Dangerfield for nothing...

We want one top ten and one top fifteen pick. Or a top ten, a second round and a first 22 player.

Aish is worth approx pick 18, so slightly less than the second pick we would want.

Danger and our third for 9, Aish and a second would be about right.

What Dangerfield said could be interpreted as an overall concept that he wishes Adelaide would get fair comp from the AFL. Until he comes out and says he wants Adelaide to receive fair compensation "from Geelong" then his comments can't be used for the basis of any argument as the context is the too ambiguous.

Melbourne got pick #3 for Frawley whose contract was only worth half the term and the cash of Buddy's. The system is a joke and the AFL is corrupt. If the situation looks like it will get effing ugly, the AFL can and will step in however they see fit to do so. Geelong got an additional pick for Ablett. Whilst that wasn't Free Agency and Gaz is a better player than Danger, "extenuating circumstances" is a line that can cover a vast array of issues.

Again like RFA, your not understanding how they calculate a compo pick it is written $$$$ and Age. A precedent has been set with buddy for a business to throw those sort of precedents out of the window would be ridiculous not to mention the team that got shafted would demand legal action or compensation of some sort, because if that happened to Adelaide I would.

Danger doesn't want to burn bridges with his friends and he wants the club he's going to to be as strong as possible. Danger wants his cake and wants to be eating it, so his is an unreliable assessment.

Pick 14 (which is barely first round) and start of second round compo (which isn't first round) is no where near enough. Ludicrous.
