I took Fagan's words as an indication we would match and trade. That's what I took away from his 23rd of September speech.
We all hear what we want to hear.
They've got to talk for many, many hours over the next 2-3 weeks. A small part of what they say comes from other media outlets, and a major part is them just theorizing.

No, it is because we want fair compensation. Nothing to do with what Geelong are doing. If the Cats had pick 3 or 4 that wouldnt change anything, it would surely make us want to match more so to get said pick.
No, but he hasn't fired him. Since they are bottom surely questions have to be asked.

Yeah, maybe, I was guessing he has returned to management based on him running one. I would assume that after his ban he'd take on clients again, but I'm guessing.

Just thought I'd clear it up that Danger wouldn't enter the national draft if he didn't get the trade done, he would enter the Pre season draft.
I still think a deals already been done, theres no way the clubs haven't spoke to each other, I don't believe that for a second.
having said that we must let danger go into the draft than accept pick 14 in a weak draft........we need to let players know we wont just let you walk easy. if we get nothing ill respect the club more than if they just bend over and take it no lube.

That's not quite right! The club said they will do everything to get the best possible compensation for the club. Majority assumed it meant we will match but it could very easily mean not matching to get the other first rounder into play and doing another deal with Geelong and possibly a 3rd club to get a better overall compensation. Like I said in the Possible trade thread that we need to judge this at the end of the trade week for the overall result as its going to be more complex that matching anddealing with Geelong.

I concede this might happen, based on what I've heard and know, I believe we'll match and trade. There is no scenario that seems plausible to me that sees our club gain the compensation pick and then do some trade that gives us a better result, the AFL will almost certainly block such a trade. IMO
Agree on your sentiments. Pick 14 is nowhere near enough - unless we can turn pick 14 in to Redden, Aish, O'Meara, Bennell & Menzel.
I don't think a deal is done - Conners wouldn't be trying to pressure the Crows in to accepting unders for him if that was the case. I am very confident both clubs are discussing though.
As in many things, we try to play nice all the time. Nice doesn't = winning.
