Top work Freo1995, fast too. :thumbsu:

OK fellas, I supplied the beers and arranged the movie, maybe next time I contribute to a face-off thread you could try being nice.

That was Morabito that put the chase on Dangerfield for the full length of the field btw. Had his run blocked and pulled out to allow Hasleby to take over. Haze was never going to catch him though, and when his run was also blocked, Morabito put the afterburners on and was catching up to Dangerfield which probably forced the early kick.

5 bounces! One more and he would have slotted it for GOTY.

It reminded me of Forrest Gump on the football field. Just give it to him and tell him to run.

Love how he starts off with a run, and then kicks it into high hear.

Cheers for uploading.

Thanks for posting it mate! Top stuff:thumbsu::)
Looking forward to seeing plenty more of that from Danger far into the future! But as the OP alluded to I think he was a bit worried about Morabito catching him.Probably could have gone the extra 5 metres to slow down and have a shot but he was running full pelt and it's always hard to kick accurately at full pace. Not only that, he was probably knackered too!

Studied that closely - loved the run, but trying to see how it could have finished in a better result. Always easier in hindsight, of course.

At the beginning Danger had to cut left to get through the Freo players all around - at least 3 closer than any of our boys. Then he ran away early, with a Crow forward looking for the handball. When the handball didn't come the Crow player checked Haz, but Morabito was still free. Was that Cook, VB, Reilly or who? Difficult to tell. Important, though, because if Danger had handballed forward as soon as he broke through he could have blocked one or both the Freo players himself. The rest of the clip suggests that if the other Crow had gathered cleanly (problematic given the skills demonstrasted in the rest of the game :() he could have run into the 50 with a bigger break than Danger had.

Would the handball forward, giving the extra distance and time for the shot on goal have been a better percentage option?
Alternatively, could the blocking have been better managed to get Moribito out of the frame as well?

I think, looking at it several times, that Danger did everything right except right at the end, when he should have taken an extra step or two towards the goals before kicking. He kicked when still wavering between a pass and a shot.

Actually, looking at the end of the run again, I think he was passing, and had too much on the kick - running too fast still :D

We started with the ball in defensive 50 and ended up with a throw in next to to our goal posts, thats worth at least 3 or 4 effective kicks.

I understand that but he kicked it to no one straight out of bounds, when he starts to hit targets from runs like that it is explosion time.
