He and Sam Power have both been told they are not going to be re-signed by North, Im not suggesting a trade but it might be worth looking at Harris in the draft. Sam Power is fit as and maybe a decent run with player but I think Harris has a bit more up side. Certainly worth a look.

I was interested in harris last year , not now though after seeing sidey, beams, mccarthy and even barham in action this year.

Put games into youngens that have shown something to suggest that they are going to be around for 10 plus years.

don't think our young players are ready to face the best midfields on their own yet... still need a guy or two to feed them the pill....
i would say coughlan (although comes with higher risk) would be the better bet

Coughlan is a far better option. Harris has never been that good. Coughlan was near all australian in 2005 and won the jack dyer medal (not that that is a very big acheivment haha) with a new club i think he will shine and take the opportunity with both hands.

harris or coughlan for that matter could do no worse than o'bree... would be a handy replacement (hopefully...)

I think we need a big bodied ruckman more than the mature midfielder. That said, if Ball hadnt played in the Grand Final yesty i would of put everything on him leaving the Saints. Considering the ages of their two ruckman, they could be in the market for a mature aged ruckman. Id trade Fraser for Ball if we could acquire Charman from brisbane first.

We do need a quality ruckman, but Charman isnt the answer and we already took Cam Wood off them. He has a temper and gives away ALOT of free kicks. Fraser would be an interesting trade, but wouldnt happen, as McEvoy showed alot of promise when given the oppurtunity.

Our midfield is going to be very very good in the next few years...

Sidebottom and Beams were massive finds. Than there is J-Mac. Than there are guys that will probably be good in Wellingham. Brad Dick will probably have spurts in the middle like he did in the pre lim against Geelong. They join some pretty good midfielders in Pendles and Swan. Didak play a bit their too and Davis also...

Harris probably wouldn't get a game at collingwood.

Maybe not next year and certainlt the years after...

Wouldn't Tuck be a better option for our club than anyone else?
We offered a late pick for Harris last year which North rejected so you know we're interested in him and if he's a freebie why not?

Tuck/Harris
Age 27*27
Disp 27.3*17
Tackles 3.2*5.4
Clearances 4.5*4.1
Contested Poss 5.5*6.2
1%ers 3.9*5.7
Disp efficiency 65.6*78.2

And all of those numbers were done with with a lot less time on the ground. Harris is an inside hard nut who is accountable where Tuck completely ignores the defensive side of the game. The knock on Harris is he doesn't have a big tank but the way we rotate I wouldn't think that would be much of a problem. Worth a look I'd say.

i want luke ball at collingwood...

Terrific Post..
This is all we really need to worry about trade period midfielder wise..
No use going around getting players that aren't outstanding..
Yeah they are old and more mature, but i would much rather get games into our young guys, Beams and Sidebottom who look promising.
Luke Ball is a great midfielder and would dominate in his role as a full time Centre..

The only mid we should really be looking at although i doubt saints will get rid of him, nor would he want to leave..
