I played against him that season he kicked a ton, as a disclaimer it was the bottom grade of the amateurs so not sure to extent to which that will translate to AFL.

Got 13 against us one day so he was doing something right! He was fairly accurate from memory, with good hands.

like traits clunking marks down the line all game and looked solid when moved forward in the last quarter, slotting a couple of goals.

At least we’ve gone with a decent sized marking ruckman instead of an undersized ground level ruckman in the MSD. Hopefully he pushes for selection soon as that second ruck spot is wide open.

Played a season of cricket with him and his brother back in his Clyde days, terrific family, competitvie as hell. Really good friends with the Harmes too.

Watched a fair bit of him at Frankston over the last 18 months and he has gone from strength to strength. Looked a lumbering sort of kid, but then at the start of this pre season just worked and worked and worked. Hit PB's in time trials and it is paying dividends with more solo ruck time.

As for playing style, he is more Max Gawn

than anything else, gets back and helps his defenders often taking towering pack marks to help the defence. His ability up forward is more body size against opponents than genuine forward play, does have some smarts but size is his MO.

Good luck, will be watching from a distance on the big fella, he's a ripper the fan base will get around easily and quickly
