Would it be reasonable that Dan had no idea that contract and penalty clause was agreed to at the time he promised there was no exit cost?
If so, he shouldn't have promised that ripping up the contract would cost nothing.

Confidently stating incorrect claims doesn't make you a good leader. It just makes you a good liar.

Yeah, and the other side of politics pretends that when the chamber speaks, they're talking on behalf of all Australians, and not just business owners.

It's basically the nature of our political parties.

The only difference is that the media reveres the Chambers (mostly LNP party members and supporters) and attacks Unions (mostly ALP party members and supporters).

Note that the RBA staff knocked back the pay offer, as it didn't address cost of living pressures. Meanwhile RBA management is pumping out stuff about being afraid of wage-inflation spiral. Seems like nobody within the RBA ranks actually thinks it's a problem.
There are two types of people. The decent folk and the ‘work shy, but avaricious’.

Agree it doesn't make you a good leader
Disagree that you are a liar. Liars make statements knowing that it is false.

Accurate to describe him as foolish to make that statement, but I think at the time it was unprecedented to enter into contracts while in caretaker mode (as Vizzini would say it was "INCONCEIVABLE")

He knew the contract was signed, and he didn't know the details of the contract. That much seems clear.

"There is nothing to walk away from, be very clear about this, the contracts are not worth the paper they’re written on,” Mr Andrews said. “This is not a legally binding contract.”

If he hadn't seen the contract, how would he know whether it was legally binding or not? Dan did what he thought necessary to win the election...he lied.

I suppose getting back to the inconceivable angle he couldn’t think that it was possibly enforceable. Like I said dumb and foolish not definitively a liar imo

Libs only managed to get 21000 first pref votes in warrandyte, same amount they got at the election. Not exactly shoving the needle. But their candidate was garbage. Another bible thumping zealot, so Pessutto's job will be harder not easier.

Especially if they're trying to be low profile

Also a case of our wonderful media pinning the blame on a potential new premier, when the dodgy stuff was entirely in the liberal govts wheelhouse. That and PM Abbott inviting him to break a promise.

If the lib govt hadn’t sat on its arse for half a term the EW link would have been happening already. It really was their baby cos it also was wedge politics between labor and greens.

And yet we saw the same fed-state shennanegins with fryzos car parks fiasco. Lucky fryzo is useless at implementing stuff

4 points:

1. They haven't counted all the votes yet, and by-elections have lower turnout
2. Things are rarely as good or as bad as people make out
3. Whatever Rita Panahi says, it's always useful to think the opposite is true
4. Kos sure spends a lot of time bagging the Liberals. It's like he's a partisan or something.

A lesson in hypocrisy:

Dan: “My approach is to be spending less time in the bar and more time working hard for the people of Mulgrave and the people of Victoria. “If you want to go to the pub, then do that in your own time.”

yes and Labor didn't even bother running but that hasn't stopped the libs claiming a landslide 2pp tally
2. Things are rarely as good or as bad as people make out
its a nothing result beyond the fact that the libs again ran a pentacostal

3. Whatever Rita Panahi says, it's always useful to think the opposite is true
so its a new dawn for the vic libs? sorry this is massively clutching at straws

he is, its why he also bags the greens

I'm not claiming a 2PP landslide considering the ALP didn't run and it's comparing apples with pears. But the primary percentage is up, the vote is overall lower because of usual by-election things. So neither as good or as unnoteworthy as people are making out. It's something, but not a large thing.

I was in the candidates course with Nicole, and she never advocated for anything pentacostal-ly. Some people just have beliefs, some others act in accordance with their beliefs in a way that doesn't hurt anyone. I don't expect you to agree, so let's stipulate that you already disagreed and move on.

being pentacostal is enough for me

that particular church is ****ed

but its just evidence of where the power in the libs is

I don't care how "nice" someone is to you

literally the only thing I take out of the by election is that warrandyte is full of conservatives (already known) and libs are captured by the religious right (already known)

meaning the net result if a big fat business as usual

Gralin is angry = business as usual

you complaining the libs don't get a fair go in a thread not about them when they do the opposite of earning a fair go doesn't make me angry but it sure is ****ing annoying

especially when you're complaining about someone else being partisan

seems to me there is a plentiful supply of rightists posting. it's just that, unlike you, many lack a reasonable tone and are to the right of genghis khan.

Isn’t he bagging Rita Panahi in this post? Basically saying don’t listen to her?

yes because she said the libs were talking out of their arses with how they were talking up the by election win

That is probably true of most social media (99.7% complaints - on this site usually umpire related) and 0.3% showing off...
