And the bastion of hatred, X (formerly Twitter), doesn't?

There is just so much material on Dan, even if he is retired. I'm being fairly restrained.

As an aside, I can't wait to see what lame excuse his protégé comes up with NOT to proceed with the Airport Rail Link
Now that he's out of power, why can't you just ignore it or him? What affect does he currently have over your life that warrants the continued and perpetual expression of your intense dislike?

I get not liking the bloke. I don't get continuing - or what appears from the outside - to follow the coverage of him, intensely pay attention to his doings when they don't affect you. It doesn't make sense to me.

It's clinging to hatred as dearly as one's own child.

If you don't want to say why you don't have to. Just, what Gralin said flippantly above about obsession appears to be entirely too true, Sttew.

questions we can equally ask of 'Melbournes US owned tabloid' ...... and the $hitstains that work for it

it is an obsession, it is personal ..... and its f**king unhinged (its also very very amusing :drunk:)

its like the rednecks in America with Hilary - and she was never even Prez! hate is their oxygen. same with the chronic Dan haters. Couldnt lay a glove for three terms so they'll chase him to the grave like mangy stray dogs.

yep! and instead of admitting his dan bashing was bullsh!t slobbo warner has moved to a what-if position. pseudo journo, if that.
Did you read the article?
It was simply getting a comment from the person who was sponsoring him for membership and it was this person who inferred that Andrews had been black-listed. Basic straight up and down reporting.

i won't ask you whether you know anything about journalism because the answer is clear.

front and centre for competent journos is the word "corroborate". journalists don't just run stories that lob on their desk. they check authenticity.

what slobbo should have done, check with the golf club. but, hey, that would have killed the story because there was no substance to it.

then, having made a complete pickle of himself, he went with the what-if diatribe.

and that's not to mention other factual errors.

Apart from the bizarro story, even more bizarre are the reported "reasons" for blackballing him.
If the reported "reasons" are true, why on earth would he want to join clubs that are riddled with cookers?

He quoted from the guy who sponsored his membership.
Now either the reporter has made up the quotes or Mr Beck is lying. Its one or the other.

That is journalism 101 right there. Get a source, ensure the source is legitimate, get a quote and write the story.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that the source approached the media outlet. Thats how most stories like these come about.

By the way, Michael Warner wrote the story. Not Mark Robinson.

I'm more leaning it's one of those gossip mag type stories. There's enough truth in it to not get sued but there's a bit of bullshit in it.

Another expensive deal for the taxpayer
Victorian taxpayers have been left with a record bill from this year’s Formula 1 grand prix, with runaway costs associated with the race outpacing revenue generated by record attendances across a bumper four-day event.

The annual report of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, tabled in state parliament on Thursday, reveals the government-controlled body spent $198 million to stage this year’s race at Albert Park. This represents an increase of $44 million, or 29 per cent, from 2022, and a whopping 72 per cent increase from two races ago.

The cost of this to taxpayers is $100.6 million, up from $78 million in 2022

I would happily drop the GP and have been in that position for years

out of interest Satan where is that coming from because no link and what is their history on that topic?

also what has that got to do with Dan currently as he is no longer involved in the decision?

perhaps you should first look up what corroboration means.

a proper journo would not have used the one source to write such a story. he/she would have contacted the club involved to see whether in fact the club had received a membership application. but, as I said, a negative response would have sunk the story. can't have that.

then there was the sh!t about it being an exclusive club. it might have been handy to check out that it was factually incorrect too. then, having not undertaken any due diligence and been found out for it, he went on a whataboutism trail.

sorry, but you have no idea how proper/good journalism works.

that you, slobbo? ;)
