Just heard on the telly that chicks contract wont be renewed by the eagles but he still wants to play. The reporter said he would like to come to the pies. Hes 31 i think and can still play like he did on rusling in the preliminary.

Is he worth picking up in the pre season draft?

If he wants to play on close to the minimum wage, and if Burns Licuria and Buckley all retire as well as Clement, maybe and just maybe he's worth considering in the preseason draft on a one year contract.

But I think there will be better options out there.

Personally I have no objection to how others live their lives. When football clubs get rid of good players who have played well in finals and they still have some time left in the game you have to ask yourself why. Daniel Chick is a good footballer. WCE are trying to remedy their drug issues. I head Chad Fletcher was told he wouldn’t be on the list next year. That may be a rumour and/or Judd leaving may change the WCE list strategy.

But no, we don't need immoral dogs who lie to AFL investigating officers to try and get players pinned for crimes they did not commit. I'm not joking at all. West Coast of all clubs aren't renewing his contract because of his bad influence on other players off the playing field. We don't need that at our club.

And why would we give Chick a game ahead of our younger players and stop their developement? We'd only use Chick if there was nobody available to play. Bring Brown and Anthony etc into the team and give them some experience.

And from the sounds of it Wakelin will be at the club next season.

NO NO and NO! We are going with youth as we have been for the last 3yrs so lets continue the process. It is a good and positive sign that Clement has retired (although great servant) and Wakes, Bucks and Burns considering their futures.

This means the club is in safe hands with the kids coming through and the best way to maintain sustained success is to keep topping up with youth and going to the draft table or even trading for youth if need be.
