Almost an ideal scenario - previously listed ruck who has a big year in the state leagues and wouldn't be expected to come into the side to be the dominant ruckman, but would be rapt to get back onto a list and work hard to become a permanent ruck option.

Handy that he's mobile and has good endurance.

I would be pretty stoked if we picked up one of those American players. They are naturally athletic and could be a handy pick up for us in the future. I'm sure Mike Pike was the same and Syd would have worked on his ball skills. Now Pike is a premiership player. Yannick is the same height as Lebron James and has athleticism like a Nic Nat but BETTER. I believe this will be a very handy investment for us if we picked him up. If not him, at least Eric Wallace. No more Irish players like O'Reiley or Heslin.

I reckon we could get Currie with #68 in the draft or something, and then pick up one of the Americans in the rookie draft. :D

Just what I hope anyway. ..

Yeah good point actually. Pick up currie in the draft and one of those American players for our international rookie spot. What's the go with Gideon Simon? Is he still on our list as a international rookie or is he entering the draft? I'm not sure who it works. I know he played for Coburg this year but that's it.

Simon still with us another year before we can rookie him I think. Im pretty sure he was in one of the combine videos they put up today as it looked like him and had his name on the back of the top.

Cheers mate! So that means his taken 1 spot of the international rookie on our list right? So we can only have 1 more player on the list?

He currently isn't taking up a spot on the list but he will next year when we take him with a rookie pick as at this stage all we have is the rights to him a bit like a father son selection without the bidding process.

And we have two spots left on the rookie list for international players seeing as both Heslin and O'reily have left. So we could afford to take two international rookies this year if we wanted but it would mean we would have to either let one go or elevate one to the main list to accommodate Simon.

Not quite right, I'm afraid. Irish players don't count as international rookies.

They do now, the AFL has acknowledged that there is just as much risk in the process of rookieing Irish players as their are any other internationals.
 
Sounds like he would be a solid pick up - a back up/developing ruckman with strong endurance and athletic ability would a priority I'm sure. Would be great to have on the list especially if Maric went down with injury. Being a state league player, he would probably be happy to just be on an AFL list you would think so he wouldn't kick up a fuss if he was playing at Coburg most weeks.

Would also like that Myke Cook - sounds like he is another likely mature age player.

201cms and 97kgs, was on the Sydney Swans list for 5 years, and has been very unlucky not to have played AFL football by now. Has been emergency several times, and has had injuries, including a broken foot, which have hurt his chances at critical times. He had some outstanding ruckman in front of him at the Swans including Jolly and Mumford. He is very fit, able to match the Swans midfielders in their time trials over his time there. He tied for the Mulrooney Medal for the B&F in the NEAFL competition last season, playing for the Swans Reserves. He is originally from Melbourne.

Tigers need to get this guy, if Ivan goes down this is your man!
